Opposite Lock Ferntree Gully

I own a Forester and used to go to a Suby specialist (not the dealer) for repairs. There were several ongoing issues with the car that weren't being satisfactorily resolved, and I suspected that the car wasn't being serviced properly. Putting the servicing in the capable hands of Ultimate Off Road (their mechanical services division) was a wise decision. Several things needed prompt rectification, as the car indeed had not been serviced properly. After being serviced properly, the car became a pleasure to drive again and most important I felt safer while driving it. The staff are honest, highly skilled and experienced. I trust them to look after my car well.

These guys are my new best friends. Seriously, they have the knowledge and the patience to sort and deliver whatever you need for your 4x4. I've just had a Rhino Roof Rack fitted, and could not be happier. From the sales staff to the fitting crew, there is a seamless process that gives you confidence to trust Opposite Lock. Can't complain about the price either, I'll certainly be a return customer. Thanks guys.

Excellent service, great product range and honest advice. Almost all of my FJ cruiser's mods have been done by Opposite Lock Ferntree Gully (inc something as basic as a tow bar) over the past 5 years. I buy most of my 4wd accessories through them when needed. I live 40km from the store and pass three other 4wd stores to get to it). Put my old man onto them as well. Highly recommend, I will continue to be a customer while Ben & co run the show.

Had a Bush Company awning fitted. A few technical challenges from my end were quickly resolved with a great outcome.

There is nothing worse than rattles that threaten your sanity. Add to that, suspension noises that go clunk in the night.
Booked a service for my Prado at Opposite Lock in Ferntree Gully.

Poor workmanship very disappointing when you need fix there mistakes yes you did work on my 4x4 not going in to detail as you didn't want to help fix the problem when it was pointed out

Had a long range fuel tank installed last year. Due to the installation leaving an air conditioning pipe sitting against the tank, eventually the vibration of driving led to a crack in this pipe and a total loss of coolant. This has left me without airconditioning over the summer as I wait for a replacement part which is likely to take about 3 months. I emailed opposite lock to provide them some feedback on the installation suggesting that they add a little padding in future to avoid this, yet I never even received a response. My email was in a polite tone, not wanting anything done about it by Opposite Lock, and was purely trying to provide feedback to avoid this happening to someone else in the future. Pretty disappointed that they couldn't even give me the curtesy of a response.

I have been dealing with ben and the team for many years now 10/10 for customer service and 10/10 for quality of work.

Second time I have used opposite lock Ferntree Gully Ben was clear in telling me what was going to be done for the service and if anything else was needed they would contact me prior to doing any extra work.
The service was done well and customer service was great.
Will be using them now as my go to 4wd shop.

Opposite lock have provided me with arguably the best customer experience I have had on any project. I bought a front runner roof rack and had a lot of issues with setting it up. I dealt with Alex from the beginning who was so professional and easy to deal with. She was always available and incredibly patient in explaining a lot of simple concepts that Im a novice about. Ben who did the auto-electrician work was as cool as ice and gave me incredible confidence on the finer details. I will never go to any other 4WD store again (and I drive out from St Kilda). I will be recommending Alex and the team to all my camping buddies until Greta Thundberg no longer allows 4WD. I hope the opposite lock team stays safe in these uncertain times and one last big thank you to Alex!

Have been in here quite a few times over the years. There is an exceptionally high level of professionalism and customer service. Often dealing with the fact I have left things to the last minute and need stuff “yesterday”!

Highly recommend having a chat to Ben and the crew at OL FTG if planning upgrades to your vehicle. You’d be surprised the things they have access to in the 4x4 market.

A massive thank you to Ben, Alex and the team at Opposite Lock Ferntree Gully. Had a 2 inch lift and driveshafts replaced in my ford raider. Ben recommended adjustable rear shocks as a better choice. Ben has a wealth of knowledge in the 4wd industry and will go above and beyond to make you happy! Was thrilled with the work done on my truck! Absolutely professional centre from always keeping you informed on work and progress to the finish and hand over! Even when the incorrect driveshaft seal arrived late in the day, Alex made a mad dash to the parts store to get the correct part so they could get my truck finished that day!
