5 Just saw satyagraha at hamer hall.
Apparently a great performance but the relative levels of the chorus, Orchestra and soloists was completely mismatched.
The lead tenor sounded like he was singing in a bathtub, and as soon as the orchestra or chorus came up in volume, the soloists were inaudible.
Attempted staging on an umstaged production was summarised by my wife as "why bother with a single umbrella and a few newspapers. And a few people walking randomly around the back of the stage does not staging make"
And $199 each ticket seems very expensive for the poor sound quality

Opera Australia, some it's male actors with terrible acting, terrible singing, they can't dance and they can't perform.
Completely loved Turandot OA production at The Arts Centre Melbourne. Wonderful performances, stunning costumes and Graham Murphy designed choreography. Thankyou for touring to Victoria.
