13Fantastic staff who are always very welcoming. Lunch available every Friday and food is delicious. Nice to catch up with other forgotten Australians on the day.
I have always found the staff there very freindley they always return my phone calls and go above and beyond to help me
Since knowing about open place I've met a lot of people who were in similar situations as I was as a child.
Having settled down after having further talks with Open Place, my SPIRIT was put at ease! I am man enough to admit there were a few miscommunications with OP and myself at the start. I just want to say that "I'm SINCERELY GRATEFUL" to OP and support staff!
As a Forgotten Australian, I'm newly registered with open place. Staff are absolutely lovely.so thanks
Open Place is the/My go-to when I am in a bind; open place gives the dignity back to those FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS and not so Australians alike!
This community agency for the forgotten children was closed on the day I attended however were gracious to open and let me in and answer all the questions I had of the services provided to those children who were institutalised. I have no end of praise to the management that even due to civil restrictions were able and willing to service my needs to a professional conclusion. Thank you to those members of Open Place who assisted me on my day of most need.
Sincerely
Michael Neal
I'm one of the forgotten Australian, being placed in care as a child. Open place has given me support, a ear to talk too, & still assisting me today. I can't thank these guys enough. I've suffered for years, but not anymore. THANK YOU, to you all. R
Unfortunately Open Place isn't open just yet. But I'm looking forward to when it does. They're a great bunch of people.
Ex ward being treated unfair by the the ceo of open place and the staff how they treat clients with complex truma needs the last thing we need is authority and un compassionate staff what they need kindness empathy compassion understanding because we all have story of strength and resilience those places were a poor substitute.
Best support for poeple who were wards of states.lovely caring compassionate staff.keep up the good work. And remember all client we all have resilience to have survived the harsh cruel injustice of this boys homes.let's all show self love self compassion self kindness strength empathy caring.to ourselves and other.thanks open place for making me feel safe and acknowledging those things happened. I feel like a real human being not a ward of the state number.thanks so much.
Open Place, is only for former children that was Place in Government Homes. Where they can share each other company, as they all understand as each expeirence horrific trauma, as children.
