Open Ear Audio reviews
31 Fantastic speaker repair business.
Great service and very knowledgeable technicians.
Very highly recommended
Excellent communication, and work. I had my turntable serviced and modified, and the whole process was seamless. They were so patient with all my questions, and I felt that I was in excellent hands. Most importantly my turntable is shiny and sings like never before. THANK YOU!:)
Wonderful quality service.at a very reasonable, dare I say, cheap price. My turntable is once again a delight to use and records sound better than before. It is now my "go to" for stereo servicing.
5 Star experience. Solved a mysterious issue I had with a phono cartridge install in no time flat. The folks there know their stuff inside out, and at a very reasonable charge. Plus, they care. Very quick to respond too, via email.
These guys are absolute professionals. They do an exceptional job at repairing, restoring and refining hifi gear. They repaired my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable and paired it with a new pre-amp. It's sounding better tahn ever. Very pleased!
The boys did a sensational job bringing my grandfather's turntable back to life. Thanks so much guys
Brought my Yamaha receiver in that was entering protection mode randomly. Problem wasn’t resolved unfortunately. Also they broke my tuner because they didn’t know how to take it apart. Fixed the LED lights at the front so they could still charge me. Nice customer service and sounded like good people, just not good at vintage repair. If 70s & 80s gear isn’t your thing, say so on the phone. Cheers.
Thanks to the team at Open Ear for bringing my trusty Marshall valve amp back to life. Turned out to be a relatively minor issue and they just charged me for a service. Totally trust these guys with my gear and would use them again
Open Ear Audio is helping us to restore our in-ceiling Jamo speakers.
The sound is better that when the speakers were new.
I couldn't find a single other place in Melbourne who wanted to help.
Open Ear Audio bent over backward and delivered awesome results.
Always professional and friendly service and take the time to explain different products and services to someone with limited knowledge such as myself. My go-to for turntable repair and retail.
I left two turntables in for servicing. First impressions were good as the woman who took my details was professional and pleasant.
When I went to collect my turntable I noticed some laminate is scraped off in two sections. When I questioned the damage to the turntable (in as amicable a manner as possible) the guy I had to deal with, quite aggressively said ‘I DIDN’T DO IT’ and 'It's an old turntable ANYWAY'. I have the turntable for over ten years and know the damage is new.
A complete absence of people skills and accountability. Very unpleasant customer service experience.
Ps Absolutely NO effort was made to address the damage done or compensate me in anyway. Not even an apology was made.
Top notch service from nice people who know their trade. Our music has a new life.
Thanks Baz.
Recently got my old Kenwood turntable serviced by these legends. Great communication, fair price, excellent service and repair on the unit.
Open Ear Audio managed to find an identical replacement tweeter for my 20 year old British bookshelf speakers and made them sound like new again. More than just a repair shop they can do full restorations and I like their consultative approach.
Needed my turntable serviced. Excellent communication as to what needed to be done & cost. & its now never sounded better!
Can highly recommend.
Had a problem with a USB turntable. A staff member had a quick test, made some adjustments to tuning and it was good to go. Very friendly, helpful and extremely modest cost.
Know thier stuff, had a Marshall head that was cutting out after 30min or so of play time, was fixed perfectly, dry solder contacts apparently, works better than it ever has. Super friendly. Very reasonably priced, very tidy, highly recommend A+
Brought my vintage receiver in for a repair, couldn’t be happier with the quality of service. The blokes I spoke to are legends, you can tell they really care about what they do and it makes a world of difference. I’d give 6 stars if I could.
Open Ear Audio sorted out our Kriesler World Series radiogram. From the time we adopted the radiogram, the speakers were constantly dropping in and out. After a couple of failed repairs from other repair services; we tracked down Dick and the team at Open Ear Audio. What a joy to discover technicians who are passionate about their craft and so professional. Dick spent a considerable amount of time explaining how to care for our records and radiogram and thoroughly detailed the magic fixes he performed to get our radiogram hitting all the notes. Knowledgeable, friendly service – thanks team!
Couldn’t be happier with the service from the guys. Dropped my 2 turntables off on a Tuesday, they were serviced, cleaned, repaired and balanced ready to be picked up by the Friday. All in the last week before Xmas! Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for hifi, speaker or turntable repair.
