OLSH is an interesting school, to say the least.
I recently transferred here, for year 7, and I must say, some of the teachers have been nothing but supportive, and they even have therapists here, in case a student is struggling and really needs extra assistance.

However, the student body is.a bit of mixed bag, per se, the latter at times being rather insufferable.

It's not that the school is inherently bad, but rather the fact that there is bullying and harassment from other students lurking within every corner. I was bullied within the first term of coming to OLSH, and despite a teacher saying they'd manage it, it was never dealt with, and it soured the rest of the semester for me.

I suppose if you're confined to a simple personality, have a distinct liking towards AFL, have Tiktok, a plethora of friends or people you know, and fit perfectly into the box of 13 year-old girl, then- congratulations, you won't be relentlessly bullied like I was.

I can't help but be honest, and I wanted to leave a review that would encourage people to send their children here, but to no avail. The subjects and classes aren't, well- bad, nor awful, and the layout of the building isn't too difficult to navigate, but it's the students that I worry about. Grades may excel, but I'm not promising that your child's wellbeing would, either.

As a past student I must absolutely contradict Pettifer Michelle. I struggled with math my entire high school duration and not one teacher left me behind. Every teacher at that school cares about every single student. The principal and vice principal are some of the loveliest people I have ever met, remembering small details about each student’s personality so they can understand them better. If you’re saying that teachers there don’t care about their students you must be kidding yourself.

The subject choices offered are very limited compared to other similar sized schools. 'Technology studies' centre around dress-making and cooking, an extraordinarily backward approach to preparing young women for the future. 2nd-rate uniforms and accessories only available >11km from the school campus (most independent schools have their own onsite shop for affordable uniforms and equipment), and changing required text books every year so they can't be reused by siblings.
Teaching feedback to parents is minimal and depends primarily on using a primitive webbased system.

This school is amazing and the staff are so kind and helpful. We could not have asked for a warmer welcome, great communication and I could go on, just the best

Amazing school, good teachers apart from a few. Too much based on popularity and wayyyy too many clique groups and bad girl dramas. But there are a lot of nice girls though! But ugly new uniforms

Do not send your daughter to this school, the teacher's do not care if she is having trouble doing the work, they are only interested in the smart one's. Pay a lot of money for a poor education. They only want your money

So glad I made the decision to move my daughters here. The school has been so wonderful, especially the principal who sincerely values and practises the Catholic faith.

Beautiful place, just the nicest staff and the students are shining example of extremely well behaved girls. I have traveled on public transport for a number of years and these students are always well behaved and well mannered, they are shining ambassadors for this wonderful school!

I taught a Contract at this school a few years ago when I was last living in Melbourne, and loved it too!

It is warm, welcoming, beautifully run and organised with a fabulous staff. So many opportunities to mix with other people from diverse cultures, so lovely, and even though I am Jewish, I was welcomed to the staff, joined in prayers, and we learned about each other and I was able to answer all their questions on Judaism.
