Okami (Traralgon) - Japanese All You Can Eat reviews
34Four people were dining, but raw beef was never served. If you ordered three portions, you would get one portion, and if you ordered three portions, you would still get one portion. There was no waiter to pay attention to us. We were served a lot of dishes we didn't order. The chicken wings were very small and unpalatable. Tofu, edamame, beef cubes, tenbura, fried chicken are pretty good
Each time we come here, we have an amazing time.the food is always high quality and there's something for everyone.
I had home delivery via menu log. Never again. I had the bento box pork katsu, it was all drowned in sauce, even the spring rolls were drowned in sauce. The rice was dry and horrible. The California rolls I couldn't even eat as soon as I opened the packet the smell was awful. I did try and leave a review on menu log I accidentally hit the phone screen and it posted the 3 words I had typed. Under my sons name Sebastian. I ate 3 strips of the soggy pork and the rest is going in the bin. $39 all up for my one meal. So disappointed
We were forced to get out of the restaurant by the smell of detergent, it is so inconsiderate to start moping when the customers are eating their food. I would never get back to this restaurant and I don't recommend it at all.
Good food if you go there with people but if your alone your made to eat off a different menu terrible service, don't get offered a drink and it will take an extra half an hour for your food, don't expect to much.
I've eaten at a few different Okami's in Melbourne. However, this one was my least favourite. The service is pretty average and the team look pretty unhappy to be there, there was multiple times we're we ordered two of something and only one plate came out and then the next time we ordered one plate of something else and we received it multiple times. It took 40 minutes for sushi to come out and the rice was not cooked as well as the wasabi was not hot at all.
Honestly if you are after an average Japanese food go here but there are better places in main street to go.
Lost our order, waited 45min after the first dish was served. Had to ask 3 times before someone did something about our order. Poor attitude by staff all round. Food was average too. Measly 6 small and thin slices of overcooked salmon in the Bento after a 45min wait.
Its not really 'all you can eat', but more like 'all THEY want you to eat'. Guaranteed when you order multiple plates, they'll bring out one plate, return 20 minutes later and ask if you want to order more - wait, what happened to the other plates you ordered earlier?
This has happened to other people, hence why i'm writing this review, so that others are aware that the 'all you can eat' is a sales ploy. Be prepared to leave hungry. Additionally the plates are tiny, so sharing one plate between two or more people will be incredibly frustrating.
Had a party of 8, was a little slow to get the food out to start but picked up when the kitchen had caught up I think, still ate plenty and was there for a couple of hours, definitely not for people who want a quick feed. Food was good, staff was really nice for being run off there feet it seemed like.
Love everything about this place - except - that they stack the beef carpaccio when bussing out plates with food on them, directly on top of each other. That is unhygienic and gross, especially for very raw beef.
The greatest dining experience you can have in Traralgon. Get a bunch of friends and go to town on the "all you can eat".
The beef carpaccio is out of this world. Eat yourself stupid and finish it with a guilt-free green tea icecream.
Pro tip: The bar gets hella busy so order your drinks 2 at a time.
Always have a great feed here, 97% of the time the starters are beautiful and hot (have had it (spring rolls and the mini dim sims) a couple times cold. And always ask for more dipping sauce, I do this as I place order as I know now it's never enough.
Overall tho, the food is great and tastes lovely, and has a great vegetable options for those wanting it.
If you want to just try something, they are more than happy to just bring one item out or just a single portion instead of a plate full, which was great. We got to try a few things we were unsure of.
Overall it is always a great night out for dinner here.
Definately a place for those who like to gorge and stuff themselves to the brim. As an all you can eat, there's no guilt in how much you order, it actually seem to be encouraged to order to the max. And the food is top notch, freshly prepared and and delivered with Japanese efficiency. No baymarie rubbish at this place.
Unfortunately this wasn't a great Okami experience! Way too slow taking orders and getting food delivered! Really disappointed! Camberwell is heaps better!
Good food.
But the food delivery to patrons were painfully slow.
Front counter staffs seems oblivious to new customer waiting at door to be seated.
Took 30mins for an entree to arrive at my table.
It took another 35 mins for my main course to arrive.
Restaurant was only half full.
I dread to think how long service will take if it is full house.
Perhaps this place needs more kitchen hands
Delicious food, good price for all you can eat especially at the moment. I have booked my birthday dinner in for here it's that good. I would recommend booking a table though as they're quite often booked out by mid afternoon for that night which tells you how good they are.
This experience left a lot to be desired compared to other Okami restaurants I've experienced. The food was its usual standard if not slightly smaller portions considering a group of 9 people.
The service however was lacking, drinks took 20-25 mins to receive and it was increasingly difficult to order after the first time. 3/5
The food is generally good, we have been a few times now and everytime we choose the fresh sushi from the menu we never get what we order, on 3 occassions now it has failed to arrive, even after checking and being told it will come. This last time it was on the serving counter when we were paying, 1hr30mins after ordering. We only seem to get one plate of sushi, even though we order another. Drinks can be very slow as well, otherwise everything else is good.
Very unhappy with the service tonight. Very slow and the food was cold which left me and my friend feeling quite sick afterwards. When I reached home I did end up vomiting which makes me think that the food was undercooked and not safe to eat.
We are new in Traralgon, went for the first time, we didnt know it is a buffet and ordered normally not even once did the staffs said it is all you can eat! Paid 77 $ just for eating nothing nver going back again just because of the bad service
