Okami Japanese Restaurant reviews
25 Worth a visit for this all you can eat Japanese place. Such value for money.
Staff kinda missed our orders (may they need to have a proper way to keep up with the orders) but other than that, we had a great time.
Expected more to eat but seen not much choices for me and friends. $39.80 per person not included drinks (except water)
Service was good as serving quick and we all get full in 40mins.
First time at this restaurant and it was a nice experience the food was yummy, and was quick to come out and the quality was good too. We did have to eat at 5.30 so I felt a bit like a nanna as the next sitting was at 7.45 which I felt to be too late.but that aside it was a fun night out.
A nice little All-You-Can-Eat sushi place! Overall, the food is average but the selection is quite good - sushi platter, variety of meat dishes, udon as well as dessert. You order what you want and keep ordering until you can't eat anymore!
Disinterested staff, like they were forced to work. Anyway, won't be coming back here again.
Absolutely loved it, the price per person is very reasonable and the food was great, if tou are looking to try something different from fastfood, try out this restaurant.
Avoid this outlet, I have been to other Okami, but this particular outlet the food quality is no good. Their service complements their food quality too. No one seems to want to do any work there. Most of the time the waiters and waitress are hiding in the kitchen and when I wave for them to come take my order they conveniently look passed us.
I really want to give them more stars, but I couldn’t think of any positive experience there at all.
가격도 좋았고 맛고 너무 맛있게 먹었네요. 다만 주변이 시끄러울수 있고 주문을 미리 먹으면서 해야 한다는게 있습니다. It was so delicious. You can see why there are so many people waiting after making a reservation. The price seemed good, too. If I give you a tip, you have to place an order in advance while eating so that you can eat the next order
Price=quality? ! The sushi is very average, price we paying for can’t expect too much, the hot food is nice, but not great. Expecting the peak hour could be a long waiting for the food, avoiding peak hours around 7: 30pm. Service is nice, don’t expecting too much during the peak hours
Seatings are so close and no general social distance.
Very loud western pops music doesn’t suit to Japanese restaurant.
We can’t order 2 of the same meals at the same time which is very much nuisance and we have never have the same experience at any other Okami branches.
Most meals are small and different from the images of the menu. (No sweet potato tempura)
Noticed that one karaage was cut in two pieces to increase the number of portions.
We like Chelsea Heights Branch.
We were excited to try out this new Okami branch cause it was closer to where we live but ended up very disappointed. Food came out really slow and portions were not enough for 3 people. Waitstaffs just walk past you and it seems like they are trying to avoid you from ordering more food even if our table is very much empty. Carpaccio took 40 min to come out and was served when we have finished all our mains. Serving of the fried rice was really small and we only got like one spoonful each per person. We wanted to have another serve of the yakiniku beef but waiter said it was sold out already (?) We wanted to order more food but decided just to fix up the bill and leave cause we didn’t want to wait for another 20 min for the food to come. Ended up ordering takeaway food on our way home. Tbh other Okami branches have way better service and food portion sizes.
We finally went to Okami in Mount Waverley on Sunday Night and couldn't fault their All You Can Eat option.
Especially for me who is Gluten Free/Coeliac.
Plenty of Options and Great Service!
So happy that it was still open at 8.30pm on a Sunday Night, as we were in Clayton and were stuck for options, as everything was closing.
So, I called and made a quick booking for 2 people and when we got there had plenty of time to order.
Grateful that they had Gluten Free Soy Sauce and their Mayonnaise is Gluten Free.
A Massive Shout Out to Gerry/Jerry!
Impeccable Customer Service and a really nice guy! Great Work and Great Asset to Okami.
Thank you for a Great Dinner.
Will be back again.
Had been to other Okami restaurants before, so knew what to expect. Very clean & tidy as very new. They dont appear to quite have the right systems/ processes/ staff aligned yet as we had some issues. Were waiting more than 30mins for some of the drinks (just coke!) to arrive, despite asking different staff several times, then billed for extra drinks at the end. (which were removed)
Lenthy wait for many dishes: worst was 45mins for one chicken dish; despite asking staff multiple times. Even the ice-cream at the end took ages to arrive.
Hopefully they can turn it around & improve: being the closest Okami, we would like to come back again.
Great value of money with all you can eat! Friendly services and tasty food, highly recommended!
Cosy ambient. Food is good. Service is fast. Great value for money. Ice cream (matcha and sesame) are also so flavourful.
Some of the negatives is that the portions were small depending on how many people there were, but I didn’t mind it because it was an “All you can eat” priced at around $40. There wasn’t that much on the menu. Another con is that the food sometimes arrive in less then 5 minutes, and sometimes more then an hour. Also that all of the food weren’t all too special in uniqueness.
Some of the positives is that in the food they did that, they were fabulous. The grean tea taiyaki dessert was amazing, alot of the food arrived quickly, and I highly recommend the teriyaki steak and spicy ika. Although the spicy ika weren’t that spicy, the squid were so soft, and the sauce tasted good.
Something they could add to make the place better is to have ipads or tablets so you can make an order without waiting, as well as being able to make sure you did order, sometimes it was hard to know if the order was asked, or if they forgot.
Have to say that this is a decent buffet experience! Friendly staff and tasty food, definitely fed me. Will recommend to my friends and family. Expect to see you again soon!
Don’t recommend coming here, especially with a large group. Ordered a decent portion of food for the table but we had lots of dishes missing. Very slow to come out and small portion sizes. Almost like they were purposely missing dishes to save money/product. When asking the waiter where our food was, he gave some made up explanation and said the food was coming. We continued to wait and he came back asking if we wanted to put in final orders and dessert as they were closing the lunch service in 15 minutes and we had to be out. I told him we were still waiting on our previous order that had still not come out and he said “it’s coming”. Our group left Okami Mount Waverley dissatisfied and still hungry. Definitely did not eat $40 worth of food (plus the extra $100 we spent on drinks) and will not be back to this restaurant. Will stick to my local in Narre Warren.
We are back to our usual Sunday games and everyone was feeling super hungry. We noticed a Okami Japanese restaurant where the Lion City grocery is and decided to lunch there.
Service & Ambience [3.5] The staff greeted us when we came in and shown us the All You Can Eat menu. That is where we made the decision to go for it. A typical Japanese decorated restaurant, nothing unique.
Food [4] We love the beef. The gyoza were also great. Once we placed our food order, they came pretty quickly. For the buffet price, it is worth the money if someone really can eat. But do take note of the "last order" timing. Ice Cream do go for the Green Tea, yummy!
Came for my partners birthday and was not stated anywhere on the website or when booking that they do not have alcohol. We would have picked another venue. Food was great and quick.
