OhGam Korean Restaurant & Bar reviews
54This was a great find on my work trip to Melbourne. Only downside is no bill splitting and when travelling with work colleagues or makes it a little difficult
Friendly and helpful staff. Large selection of meats, vegetables and sides to choose from. Price is very reasonable and they use has cookers not electric, so the meat cooks fast. Will be coming back again.
Save your 35 dollars, go somewhere else, the quality was bad and selection is not much.top of bbq hot plate they using baking paper all the oil
Quaint little eatery. Blink and you’ll miss it!
Unpretentious and fuss-free Korean bbq.
Really great price for the food selections!
Good range of cooked food and course fresh meats and vegetables.
And absolutely love love love their premium cuts of pork jowl and kimchi!
Had Korean bbq at few others elsewhere but this is tops! Especially great for supper time.
Service was awesome too, they change your tray cover promptly when it’s browned.
And kudos to Yashas’ most amazing service! He’s a champion!
Not the best place to eat, selection of meat for me wasn't much, I chose chicken, some pork belly, prawns and cocktail frankfurt. Sides I got was fried rice and steam rice they both looked pretty much the same.
Excellent little Korean Buffet. Great price for the amount of food you can eat. The array of selections are insane. Definitely a must go to restaurant. Su and the crew gives the best customer service. Had my son’s 7th Birthday there was fantastic. Will dine again soon.
Food was Ok, but the experience was poor. Empty dishes were not getting replenished. Tables are small. Place is packed. Only 2-3 persons running around managing over 20 customers
Cheap and fun experience to go here.
Cook your own food and service crew are polite and nice. Toilet too hard to open the door. Lol.
Just need booking I think before you go.
Maybe sometimes they get busy.
Prepare yourself to smell food. Because the smell gets into your clothes and now you smell BBQ after. Haha.
This is absolutely disappointing for the price you pay for and makes me curious about how they maintained the rating. The ingredients quality was below average (chewy meat cuts, limited options, cheap veggies). More importantly the BBQ was just a portable gas with a frying pan on top which was covered by a baking paper and the customers are given a small plastic mug as a drain for the oil. There is also a lack of smoke suction in the restaurant (unlike many Korean places that have a ventilation hood over the grill)
Giving 1-star just because of the tap water.
Food is OK, I love Pork jawl. Please bring back the fruit salad (potatoes, apple, peach with Mayonnaise)
You get what you pay for - this place is at a lower price point than most other KBBQs but definitely lower quality.
Good points - there was a wide selection of meats, including octopus (the only seafood option). There were a couple of extra dishes as well as coffee.
Bad points - BBQ was a gas bbq not charcoal. No ventilation and none of the extracting pipes for the smoke. No toilet. Tables were low quality. Paper cups only. Had to get staples like tongs and scissors yourself. No dessert.
Reservations customer. One of the staff Customer Service very very bad. Asking customer to move table while eating, take chair from table without asking. No more come back.
I booked on a Wednesday a table for 8 at 8 pm for the coming Saturday night which was confirmed via text. We show up to be told that they forgot and that we should come back tomorrow. Literally destroyed someone's birthday. The place is also super unhygienic which is clearly obvious. The worst of the worst!
- my rating is actually 3.5
- the staff were nice and smiley
- I came late for 30mins, the person whomst i was with was sat down and apparently the timer already starts as soon as you sit down if u make a booking so be wary of that - which was my fault for being late oops
- once the 5 minute 15 minute timer has been said to your table they don't bother you about it after that in which was nice of them (only probably if you've noticably stayed for way longer over time)
- the tteokboki was so nice omg and the wine meat has got to be my favourite out of all
- the veg options aint that much, could be more
- other than that, pretty decent amount of choices to choose from for an eat all u can buffet and not bad for the price you pay and the meat was'nt bad especially considering that it was an eat all u can in which the quality of meat could be less ¿
- lots of beverages available
- they sell extra icy poles and cold noodles and stuffs
- next time i come back i will come during happy hour, 25dollars during 5pm to a certain time
I've always walked past OHGam on my way for some late night ramen but this time I thought I would give it a go. The service was acceptable and the food selection was decent for a Korean AYCE restaurant. I wasn't expecting A grade quality meats but my main gripe wasn't the average meat quality but it was the bad marinades that were just really too strong and overly flavoursome. Toning down the taste of the marinades would have done wonders for the overall food quality, I'm Asian and throughout my whole life I have eaten some strong dishe. This however was just a bit too much after the second mouthful, made all the more noticeable by the tray-on-gas cooking method. If this was cooked on coal it might have been less noticeable but on a tray the marinade flavour really over powered the meat.
If the owners of OHGam ever read this, please have a look and re-assess your marinades a bit.
I love an all-you-can-eat place and even more than that, korean bbq! A great selection of food and such great quality for the price you pay ($35 per person after a certain time). Also has many other options other than just meat such as fried rice, tteokbokki, and other dishes.
It’s okay depending on how much you value quality over quantity. Food ain’t bad, just okay. The staff are reasonable friendly.
Cheap bbq in Melbourne CBD. Get in before 5.30pm with discount $29 adult and $10 for kid. Restaurant need renovation the food displace area to make them look fresh and clean more.
Went here yesterday but just have some time to write a review now. It’s SOOO cheap for the food quality. Everything was good. Wish they checked and refilled the food more often because when I came at around 10pm there was little amount of japchae left.
