Off the Pier reviews
52Always been the best fish n chips in Willy! Been coming since I was a teen. Nearly two decades later and always our place to go for lunch or dinner
Beautifully cooked grilled barramundi, the freshest, tastiest fish I’ve had in a long time.
45-60min wait after ordering fish n chips… good if you can stand the very disorganised wait. At least they can say it’s gonna be an hr wait… and after all that they stuffed it up and forgot order anyway
Fish and chips can be a hit or a miss, Off the Pier sits just below Hit. Staff are friendly, prices are a little high for what I got. The piece of fish was smaller than most places I've been to. The prawn had a funky taste, which left me unsure but not unwell. The Scallop and calamari rings were perfect. The back area was a little dirty and had a bin smell. I'm not one to complain too much so if you grab some food here go and enjoy it at the park or the front. I'll still go back and give it another go. It wasn't bad but not great.
Best fish and chips! I’m a frequent visitor and they get it right every time. Seafood is always tasty, fresh and is cooked to perfection. Staff are so lovely and accommodating when making your food selections. Big fan of the grilled barramundi and seafood sticks, both mouth watering and delicious.
Waited 1 hour for fish and chips. The fish was good, but the dim sim and chips were below average.
Been going to this place for years and it’s been consistently good. Fish n chips always hit the spot. But of a wait during busy periods (weekends usually) but the quality is good and worth it. There’s ample seating in an undercover courtyard too.
Really cannot go wrong with fish and chips and this place does it so so well and for a great price too. The batter was nice and light and not too heavy and the chips, yes the more yellow the chip the better it is!
Scallops were incredibly juice.
If you see a line, know it is worth the wait.
Ok, so this place is not on the main street so you'd be forgiven if you miss it. But you'd be missing out on one of the best fish and chip stores this side of Melbourne. I visited on a weekend at around 2pm in September. The place was packed. Waited 10 mins to get an order in and maybe 20 mins for food to come out but boy oh boy was it worth it. My pet peeve with fried food, is three day old oil taste (and look). None of that here, no sir! Not my favourite type of cut or variety of spud, but still enjoyable enough. The flake is sensational. Only downer is the wait time, so plan ahead.
My first time coming and won’t be the last one………………. OMG It’s sooooo delicious and worth the price and very fresh will be back in a hurry my favourite is the flake, calamari rings, seafood sticks, salad and prawns Yummmmmmmm
One of the best fish and chips in Nelson Place, batter is light and fluffy, and the scallops are always cooked perfectly, soft and juicy. Ask for well done chips and they will deliver, basic chips is basic chips, but these guys somehow transform the chips into a scrumptious crispy treat.
OMG OMG OMG. What amazing fresh food. Best fish & chips I’ve had in my life. Partner & 2 young kids couldn’t fault it either. Will definitely be back. Keep up the amazing work you are absolutely amazing and serve perfect hot & fresh food
The three of us enjoyed fish, chips, nuggets on a park bench on a beautiful Sunday. Thank you "Off the Pier" for making our lunch and enjoyable experience. Yummy in our Tummies.
Beautiful, fresh fish. Gummy was delish.
Crispy chips. Generous serves. Great prices.
Highly recommend.
Thanks for all help today's it was most appreciated
I was the customer with the aged care residents and you most polite and courteous
The residents really appreciated it
Love this place, not only is the location fantastic but the food is amazing! My family love this little fish and chip shop!
Average really. Chips were inconsistent. Lots of burned crunchy bits.no salt at all.pretty small piece of flake.salad was OK.best thing about this place is how nice all the staff were. But considering their location and the price the food is average at best. Just being honest.
Ordered fish of the day which was Blue Granadier. It wasn't fresh and the batter very thin and oily. Scallops were dry and not fresh,
Potato cake batter very hard and crunchy,
and dim sims slightly overcooked. The outside covered area was full of leaves and not clean.
Very dissapointed.
Always fresh fish and crispy chips. A quiet night considering it was a public holiday. Friendly staff. Prompt service.
This may just be the best fish and chips in Victoria, fresh, quality and tasty. Would highly recommend, a touch more expensive than others, but worth it for the quality you get.
