I’ve been coming here for the last year it tastes amazing cleanest fish and chip shop I’ve ever seen

Years ago this place was good but it changed hands. We had a bad experience but put it down to teething problems and gave them the benefit of the doubt but they let us down again so we gave up. For some reason we decided to stop in after using the Laundromat next door and ordered a burger for him and fish and potato cakes. I tried a bite of the burger but didn't care for it. The patty had no flavour and the taste of everything was deadened by the overly large sized bun. Felt like eating a lot of bread and nothing else. Ingredients seemed cheap. The fish was stale tasting and really oily on the outside. The potato cakes actually tasted okay but were even oilier than the fish. Felt quite queasy after eating this. I know when I am beaten. Never again.

I really wanted to like this place because the two servers were trying their hardest and were very pleasant and had just dealt with a feral agro local but. I'm sorry.just no. The hamburger with the lot was gigantic but everything was bland - don't know how that is possible. The flake was dry and slightly chewy with a strong fishy taste. The potato cakes, while nice and chunky and fluffy on the inside, had taken up way too much oil. This was after the servers lost our order too. Willing to excuse that as they seemed flustered but this is now the second time the food has been sub par. Would have been one star if not for the poor hassled servers.

I enjoyed the food, but -2 stars for the 2 dead cockroach's found on the ground in the lobby, 1 is unlucky but 2 is problem
