Ocean Grove Bowling Club

The staff were extremely rude to my 3 mates and I. We were just relaxing having a beer at quarter past 5, when we were approached but who I assume is the FOH manager who asked if we had a booking, we said we didn’t, he then told us they were booked out and we had to leave soon. Fine. We finished our beers but we were hoping to eat dinner here after a long day at the beach.as we were leaving at least 2/3rds of the entire bistro was empty, so we asked if there was a chance we could grab some food and be out by the hour, this was declined.

Won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I know. The only positive was our group spent our hundreds of dollars elsewhere.

We celebrated our Christmas break up 36 people. Food was amazing and great value. Anton and the staff went above and beyond.

Very nice place to have a drink or eat has pokies on-site. Lots of parking available before 5.30.

Only visited a couple of times for meals, found those satisfactory. Don't know anything about rest of venue. Went back 4 years later, setup had changed a lot, previously had large busto area and separate restaurant, now just one service area, no seperate restaurant. Didn't matter, food was good, service was nice and friendly, Wednesday night in June very quiet apparently a big night on Thursday, raffles etc. Happy with our visit.

Waiting staff are courteous, food is lovely & the venue is well maintained with large windows for lovely views.

I went with a group and we were seated on 4 Round Tables, really good for communicating with each other. A good choice of meals reasonably priced, service was excellent by friendly helpful staff.

I could not pick holes in this establishment's customer service, and my ginger and lemongrass tea was delicious. Nonetheless, I ordered risotto and after tasting it, thought to myself: 'There's enough garlic in this to kill every vampire in Asia! ' But for the parmesan cheese, it would've been tougher to eat surely.

Our Probus group enjoyed a wonderful lunch mid-week. Terrific menu (don't know how they keep prices soooo reasonable) food beautifully plated up & delicious. Staff fabulous. Round tables so we could all chat.

When we walked in it took them 5 minutes to seat us at a booked table, then we ordered lemonade and they gave us soda water before apologising and then giving us lemonade. We ordered two $41 dollar steaks which took an hour and ten minutes to come despite us asking multiple times, when we did ask we got told “ they take longer because they’re well done” I never knew that it adds an extra 40 minutes to the order. This bogus excuse was proved false when we got our steaks and they were cold as if they were sitting around for a while. They did taste nice although the service and attitude is shocking. $41 for an hour and ten minute wait and a cold steak is atrocious. Don’t come here

Enjoy Thursday night members draws great food at very affordable prices, friendly staff, drinks have gone up but still good value

We decided to try this place based on online reviews. It is holiday season so we expected it to be busy. We tried to book online but couldn’t, so called, and were told to arrive after 7: 30. The venue is lovely, very large, but the kitchen seems to struggle to keep up. We waited 45 minutes for our meals to arrive which isn’t great with hungry kids. My daughter had a piece of plastic in her spaghetti bolognaise, which was pointed out to a waiter, and he simply apologised. She refused to eat anymore. There was no refund or anything offered.
The other kids meal, cheeseburger, the chips were terrible, like the oil needed changing.
On a positive note, the roast and prawn salad were delicious when they finally arrived.
We won’t be going back!

Had seniors lunch, very nice, quality meal. Price
was only $16 for 2 course, can't beat that. Good size portions, definitely back there again.

We were pleasantly surprised by the bistro food. Very tasty and well cooked. Easy to order and quick to arrive. I'd recommend the sticky date pudding. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Came fir an evening meal with friends and family and was not disappointed.
Service was good and drinks were reasonably priced.
All meals on our table were as good or better than any other club.

Absolute pleasurable experience, what happy staff, what a change.
Prompt service and well priced meals. We dined there several times and will do it again.

Lovely food all round. Every one pleased with their meal, very busy, good to see. The spin of the wheel was kind to us excellent.

Overall we had very nice meals on a busy night and service was quite quick. The biggest disappointment was we had very little option for a vegan meal. One dish from the lunch menu or just a bowl of chips. The person serving us was vegan and was as helpful as they could be.

Food was fantastic. The beer was cold. The staff were very friendly. A great place for a bite after a hot day at the beach.

Pretty bad when you have to send food back, asked for barramundi it wasn't cooked properly and couldn't eat it the second time round, left all on the plate, pizza base wasn't cooked either, Nice cold beer, wouldn't recommend the food.
