OBrien came to the rescue for us. We had booked with another company who had no-showed, so I was left with the unenviable task of trying to find a mover on a Friday with a same day settlement. OBrien bent over backwards to get two teams to us and worked tirelessly to move our belongings. Their office was professional and easy to deal with and the movers were friendly and well organised. Wish we had booked with them at the start!

The boys did a great job, wrapping and covering furniture and taking great care.
Maddie was very bright and friendly on the phone too.

Stay away from them! In sum, they are unprofessional, unreliable, not responsive (except when they are after your money) and definitely NOT WORTH the money. So many issues arose during my move from Wagga to Melbourne. First, they told me they would uplift at around 8am, but they showed up at 9am. Then, they quoted me approx $3.7K but later sent me an invoice for $4.2K without any explanation and I had to call them to clarify. They said it's because I didn't tell them I have plants and for exceeding the quote by 5 cubic metres. That's fair enough. Third, I paid for a direct move, not a backload move, which only cost $2K. They told me they would drive straight from Wagga to Melbourne, so I was expecting them to arrive latest by 3pm (even taking into account the breaks that the staff have to take) but they arrived at 5pm. We drove straight and arrived at 1pm. When I made a complaint, they claimed they had to refuel the truck, give their staff meal breaks etc. But, I knew they uplift someone else's stuff to the truck before leaving Wagga. Because they arrived at 5pm, they didn't finish unloading until 9pm. Fourth, they charged me a fee for needing an additional man due to lift access. But, when they were unloading, they only had 2 men and one of them has a medical condition and he's not supposed to be lifting heavy objects. My husband and I felt bad and actually helped them move. Those two movers are lovely but the owner SHOULD NOT do this to them! And what am I paying for if I have to move the stuff myself? ! Lastly, because they damaged our furniture, when I wanted to make an insurance claim, they told me I have to pay $500 excess just to make the claim. The worst moving experience I have ever had!

EDIT: This is my response to the owner's feedback.
I have evidence to prove that they have misrepresented the facts and timeline of the case.
1. On 10/12/2020, the company sent an email stating: "Based on delivery to 333 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (lift access and additional man required) – access fee of $475.00 inc gst will apply. There will be no additional charge to deliver to your Mother in Law in the same building. " I advised them of my building address on 7/12/20, which is more than a month before uplift. They knew or ought to have known that the building is in the CBD and had plenty of opportunity to revise the quote, as they clearly did by adding a difficult access fee at least a month before uplift.
2. Additional fee for extra freight and pots - I agreed the additional fee is reasonable (as stated in my review). However, I only discovered the additional fee upon receipt of an invoice. I then initiated a phone call to Madeline and then the owner. No attempt was made by anyone to advise me of the additional fee prior to the sending of the invoice. In my line of work, if I increase my fee, I do not just send an invoice to my client out without any prior notification.
3. Yes, your team did assist us by lending us the bolt cutters, which we were really appreciative of. As I said, those two employees were lovely.
4. Attached the exact same pictures of damage sent to them. I will let you be the judge of whether they are "very vague and blurry". Dryer might be cracked before delivery (I could not recall) but it definitely did not have a piece coming off like that. I did not say the dryer door is damaged, don't know where that came from. You forgot to mention the perfectly fine bookshelf and bed base that I had before they were damaged during the delivery.
5. Yes, insurance term is stated in your quote email as "Transit Insurance is included in your quotation in the event of damage occurring to your contents at loading, unloading or during transit up to the value of $400,000 inc gst in any one load and whilst goods are in our custody. Excess payable is $500 inc gst. " It does not say I need to pay the excess to make a claim.

We have used O'Briens on a number of occasions and always found them to be friendly, responsive and very professional. Our last move was after O'Briens had our furniture etc.in storage for over 3 years. Everything was received at our new location without a problem. Their packing of items is extremely thorough. We would highly recommend their services.

From getting my quote to the actual moving day O'Briens were the best choice I could have ever made. David and his team were so professional, efficient and down to earth. David went above and beyond for me especially when settlement didn't go as planned and put my items into storage. This wasn't a problem at all and he explained everything and made it all very easy. My goods were safe and secure until I could move into my new house. This is a very friendly and professional family business and I will highly recommend O'Briens to everyone.

Absolutely Fantastic experience with O'Briens Removals and storage. Arrived on time as promised, and got all of our boxes and items out of our old house and into our new place with no fuss at all. Would highly recommend their services. Reasonably priced and great value for money.

I don't like saying this, but O'Brien Removals were recommended. I phoned, no answer, left message, no call back. Rang the next day no answer. Finally got a lovely girl answering the phone, gave me great information which she was going to email me, but never did.

I would like to say a big thank you to your company but especially the men who have helped me enormously with my two moves in Mount Eliza. All the fellows, (Jeremy, Ricky and others) have worked very hard. Nothing was too difficult for them including moving the stone water feature and piano. I just wanted to give some feedback about O'Briens Removals and their employee Michael who delivered my mum’s belongings to my address. Michael went above and beyond when he single handily removed all of the boxes from the truck and stacked them very neatly on our back patio. This was not an easy job but Michael did not complain once. He was very professional and I would like his manager to know what a wonderful job he did and he is a very valuable asset to your company. Moved from mornington peninsula Vic to Henty nsw. Very happy. Came and gave a quote same day I called. Very competitive price. On the move day there were 3 men, who were so cheerful and professional. Very careful with everything. Nothing was a trouble for them. Wanted delivered 3 days later, which they did. Two very helpful and again professional men. Would i get them to move me again. A big YES. Highly recommend O'Briens Removals. I contacted David of O’Briens Removals to transfer my goods from Murrembeena to Lakes Entrance. After one phone call to David the move was magnificently orchestrated by the boss. All I had to do was arrive at my apartment and the two experts took control efficiently packing and controlling the move, also driving to an extra stop to pick up more cargo on the way to Lakes Entrance.
When we arrived at Lakes Entrance all due care was taken unpacking with no breakages.
I would highly recommend O’Briens only to those who require the very best of service and care.
