Oakleigh Cannons FC reviews
7Watched the nephew play for try outs for NPL teams. Pitch viewable from the mound and parking was easy. The canteen was open so could buy food there.
I have two boys attend Oakleigh cannons for 5 years now. This year my younger son was placed in a brand new group away from his previous team members (who are in the same group). I sent a text asking the new team manager Poppy “ Hey Poppy, are these the final teams? ” Her response was “no room, there’s been a restructure of teams. ” What ever that means. Two weeks later, I see Poppy on the day they start back and I went up to her and asked her “Hey Poppy, is there a reason my son was put in a team away from his team
mates from last year. ” Her immediate response was so melodramatic and over the top… made me feel like - how could I ask such a question! Anyway the conversation got heated, some other lady interrupted and I walked away. Feeling extremely confused, embarrassed and angry I sent her a message telling her how she made me feel and that there was a more appropriate way to communicate with the parents etc. The next morning I wake up to a long message from her advising me that Kokki the TD does not want to discuss this matter with me and now both my boys have been de-registered. I asked to speak to Kokki about this and he refused to even have a phone conversation! Overall, shame on you Kokki for dealing with this situation the way you dealt with it (or didn’t actually deal with it). It’s clear this club does not care about the children! They are struggling to find coaches and volunteers and I bet Poppy threatened to leave which is why he dismissed this so quickly, without a single thought about how my boys would feel! Shame on you Kokki! You are a disappointment!
Great Place. Great club. We played them as an opposing team. Well looked after grounds!
The facilities hete have really improved over the years and the pitches are in good condition.
Good place to visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. Souvlaki very good and coffee good as well.
Great setup for children's soccer leagues. Dunno about the under 10's coach screaming like a lunatic but we were the away team ;)
Great facility for juniors with a state of the art artificial pitch, the senior home games played in the grass. There is always a huge Greek influence with lamb & chicken souvlaki available all the time ($10) and the air thick with tobacco smoke. Enjoy grass roots football
