Oakdene Vineyards, Restaurant and Cellar Door reviews
53The 250g Angus scotch fillet stake was very nice. Green peppercorn sauce and mash. I was in flavour country.
Friendly welcome
Fantastic room
Family atmosphere
Great wine (we are actually beer drinkers)
Very tasty food
Just drive a few km out on your next trip to Melbourne
The service provided could not have been better.
Fabulous room, loved the food and environment and the wine tasting was very enjoyable.
The extra effort made was much appreciated
Fantastic cellar door experience; the wine tasting was delicious, well priced wine and we loved the cellar door host, Madge. Well worth a visit when you're on the Bellarine Peninsula.
I hired the wine bar for my wedding and loved every minute of it.
The staff went above and beyond to make my vision happen without me having to lift a finger at all. Sarah, marty and chef i cannot thank you enough for making this the most enjoyable experience from start to finish.
I have never received such high service to even the smallest of details. Nothing was too much to ask. The staff on the night were extremely attention to detail and made the whole night a wonderful experience. Our guests even commented on the service they received and are looking to book events in this space.
The venue itself was gorgeous and the atmosphere was magical. Very handy having rooms upstairs so we didn't have very far to go at the end of the night.
100/10 - for the food, it is to die for.
We will definately be frequenting for dinner just to experience the food again. Hats of to the chefs.
No other venue compares, You will not be disappointed!
We just did a wine tasting but the lady was so lovely and attentive. We got decent size tastings. It was all really great, good atmosphere and definitely highly recommended! Great grounds to check out and the tasting is in a house on its side! Which was fun! So cool to do during the day. We also had lunch after and that food was great too! I had the entree prawns and my friend got the cauliflower and potato and cheese croquettes. We both liked it a lot! We also got chips which was a massive serve for 2 ppl and aioli. Yum!
We've been assisting with winery tours at Oakdene for many years and our clients have always had a fantastic experience! The quirky art and sculptures always make for some great photo opportunities along with the excellent food and wine on offer.
Very cool, unique venue. Well set-up with both indoor areas and outdoor under a big marquee. Friendly staff and great service.
Great food, atmosphere and service
. The piano night had a fantastic vibe and good fun.
I was here for a wedding, and despite it being pretty cold and wet, we were kept warm and dry and had a wonderful time excellent atmosphere, amazing staff, beautiful space. Would definitely come back.
The room was nice and it was clean. Problem was the bathroom. We were in the water room and the bathroom had no privacy. No door on the bathroom meant that while others could not see what you were doing they could certainly hear you. It was also very cramped and obviously designed by someone very skinny. Very noisy in the room also when the wine bar was in full swing as we were right above it. Hard going up and down the stairs as well for older people.
Great little tucked away wine bar. Had a cheese platter and was able to choose the cheeses too. Absolutely beautiful location and great service
We had a lovely wine tasting with our international friends.noticed Oakdene had their own brand of olive oil. We’d love to have tasted some but unfortunately that wasn’t available. It would be such a great idea to be able to select a few to try with some bread whilst we sat sipping our purchased wine.
Sunday lunch at Mr Grubb was plentiful, varied and very tasty. The wait staff were attentive delivering excellent service throughout lunch. Accommodation at the estate was a pleasant surprise. Our room was the water room (one of three rooms). It was immaculate, roomy with lovely decor. There was complimentary Nespresso coffee, bottled water and juices, and streaming channels. The entire estate is well kept. It was a pleasure spending time there. Will definitely visit again.
A lovely winery and enjoy the wine. Was just shocked when the table next door asked to take their unfinished pizzas home and were charged by the box to do so. Greedy business decision for short term greed I think.
An excellent tasting experience with a very friendly host. We really enjoyed the wines and the quirky cellar door
Great experience with wine tasting. So nice to sit in very relaxed way to taste delightful wines. Brett was very attentive and welcoming which helped make this a great experience.
Not a great tasting at all - feels very much like an after thought, staff are friend but busy with other things. Not redeemable with purchase which is never acceptable for a cellar door, but I wasn’t fussed with any of the wines to buy. Not sure if they had been open for a while, but both pinot noirs were absolutely awful.
A great winery with amazing wines. A big thankyou to Brett & Sally for looking after us and making us feel welcomed.
Service was lacking. Did a wine tasting and they just give you the menu and the description of the wine and all the information is on the menu (meaning that your host barely talks to you) Each person at the tasting chooses their own wine to taste which kind of takes away the socialising aspect of the tasting. They also bring out all your wines on one platter so it feels a bit rushed.
