Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre reviews
56Great facilities and great community. It has everything you could need to get into shape from an Olympic swimming pool to a sufficiently equipped gym to a wide range of classes.
Nice facility! That’s for sure. Great pools with shades for family to chill. Kids playground was awesome. The only downside is there was no-one monitoring the queue on the ground for the water slides. So people, especially kids, kept skipping line and keeping the rafts for themselves instead of passing the rafts to people waiting in the queue. The wait was long, made even longer because of that. Talked to 3 lifeguards. They all said “there should be a security there” and all three times I went and checked. No one there! Came back and report to the lifeguards. They reported back to duty manager but there was still nobody there to monitor the queue. People in the line were expected to manage among themselves. And mind you, most of them were kids! Can we expect them to manage among themselves?
Such nice facility but that really ruined the experience.
A nice, clean and relatively well equipped gym. It gets better in summer time when the outdoor pool facilities are open too. However, recently the gym gets packed after 5 pm with minors who occupy the equipment whilst browsing their mobile phones, having absolutely no idea how to excercise. I am glad those kids are out and about, trying to stay fit and healthy, unfortunately they are not following the etiquette of the gym. It is very disappointing that both the staff and their parents do not intervene. If this will carry on, I will be cancelling my membership moving elsewehere.
If I could give zero stars I would. Classes get cancelled so forget about getting into a routine. 2 classes cancelled within days of each other is unacceptable. Forget about using the pool in the morning or during the day in summer, it's constantly closed for schools so theres another part of your membership you'll never be able to use. Go to Broadmeadows instead. Better facilities, better pools and run by a much better council
Went for a quick check and wasn't disappointed. The kids areas are great. Being outdoors it was a freezing wind but the pools were a good temperature. Doing laps in the big pool would have been pretty comfortable, but it was a bit too cold for my littlest one. It was very convenient to visit on a cold day as it was reasonably empty, only a couple of other families. Will look forward to getting my kids on the waterslides when they are a bit older.
So good during the week when it's not busy, the kids pools are heated which is fantastic for morning ls
They keep the pool and deck area clean and safe. Plenty of life guards around. The water slides were a real hit! So fun going down the double raft of singles. I think the washroom showers need to be cleaned more often (or have better self draining) but it may have just been a busy day that I noticed any issue. Overall a great place to spend a few hours with the family. Been about 15 times. Will keep going back.
What a joke, opening at 12pm on a 35 degree day on new years day. Line of 500 people at the door. Council taking the p155.
Too long to get in and way too long of a to get on the slides. Don't get your money worth especially when you have your family.
An excellent experience on New Year's Day 2023. Temperature was around 34-35C. Not too crowded and plenty of available places for us (5 people) to sit in the shade. Highlight was the pair of excellent water slides - though not for the fainthearted!
The pool was of course busy, but lanes for those doing laps were kept clear and well managed by the life guards.
The queue for the slides was around 30mins, mostly waiting in the Sun.
You buy either a single ride or triple ride ticket. If you bought the triple you would have to spend an hour and a half of your visit queueing. We were not warned about this when purchasing tickets. This waiting time could have been shortened if there had been better communication between those managing the top and bottom of the slides: several minutes were wasted waiting for the person at the bottom to pay attention and give the Okay signal.
But both slides are a fantastic ride and well worth the wait if you enjoy fast roller coasters and the like. Definitely not for the faint hearted!
Fairly new renovation & upgrade. A shame the waterslides went. Lots of pools, looks great
My daughter has gone here a few times with her school and liked it. But she’s gone again with me and wasn’t really impressed. Parking is a joke, no cafe, hardly any seating outside to watch your kids, I can’t sit on the floor! No indoor pool. It could of really been done great so we could use it all year rounf
I wasn't so sure about this place at first, when we went there i was really impressed with the facilities and the prices, we got very good discount as we went there as a group, lots of family changing rooms, lockers are big and good, the place is very safe alot of authorised people looking after everyone in the swimming areas, it's a good place to spend time with family and friends, keep up the good work
Great Gym. All type of gym classes Yoga, Zumba, Circuit, Pilates, weights, Active Seniors etc. Swimming pool only Summer.
Good pool for laps, although sometimes there is a platform put up midway and it's just a 25m pool, so ring ahead and check.
It is a good pool but I find the showers too hot. A temperature more like what they have at Coburg Leisure Centre or Brunswick would be more comfortable.
Absolutely no need for LIVE music performers, this place is already loud enough with kids screaming. Absolutely disgusting. Have some respect. Never coming back!?
The place was great
but the life gaurds didnt you to do anything fun inluding dloing flips, cannon balls, belly flops, and they didnt allow us to play with the ball we brang
I've never been but on the website it says that for the waterslides to open that it has to be over 26°. That's just stupid
