Number 1 Dumpling and Noodle Takeaway reviews
40 Not happy - The menu displayed out the front window got my attention. Most meals starts around $13-$14. But be really wary as once you are inside.the menus inside has correction over the top.
For meals with noodles it’s an additional $2.00 but he charged me $3.00 on top of the menu price. I ordered 3 dishes & the dishes with noodles are an additional $6.00.
The dumplings were $13, flavours are not fantastic but it’s ok. Nothing wow about it.
Will I be back again? Nope.plenty of choices in the area! The food are just average.
Came here for the first time tonight and I have to say, WOW! This place is a gem of a restaurant and right next to Spaghetti Junction! After seeing the reviews online about the dumplings I decided to get the chicken and prawn dumplings (12 pieces) and the Sichuan Chicken. Both dishes were great!
The dumplings were piping hot (I got them takeaway) and stayed hot until I finished eating. They were nice and juicy and the soy sauce and chilli oil helped to elevate the taste (gotta have this kind of dumpling with soy sauce and chilli oil!)
The Sichuan Chicken dish was also really nice. The diced chicken thigh was juicy, the veggies were crisp and there was enough sauce to either coat the steamed rice if you wanted to mix it all. It wasn’t super spicy and there wasn’t as much numbing as I thought there’d be (since it’s a “Sichuan” dish) but still decently chilli overall. The rice was also cooked perfectly and not too mushy.
All up it cost $26 ($13 for each dish I think) which is seriously AWESOME VALUE for money! I was completely stuffed afterwards, the Sichuan Chicken would’ve been fine on its own! The gentleman who gave me my food was also super friendly and gave me enough serviettes and cutlery as well.
If you’re in the area and feel like really good Chinese food visit these guys and support local! Looking forward to my next visit!
Food was good, well priced. However, I would recommend this establishment for take away rather than dining in.
Let me start this off, I don't like the smell of dumplings so I don't eat them. My friends were insistent about coming to get food with them here. We get there, no smell or anything, we got 3 plates, 1 pork pan fried dumpling, 1 steamed beef and 1 steamed chicken and my god were they nice.
I enjoyed them so much, came out very quick, very hot and the staff were so friendly.
The pan fried pork were amazing, you have to try them
Really authentic dining, every dish i've had is delicious. The dumplings go down like a pelican eating fish. Noodle and rice dishes are amazing, great for individual eating or sharing on a lazy susan.
Food is really good for the price. Thoroughly enjoyed the satay beef and dumplings. Sechuan pork was too spicy and the menu didn’t suggest it was spicy like their other spicy food with a chilli warning.
If i could give a lower rating i would, ordered beef and black bean with rice and ordered extra meat.upon receiving my order it had 2 strings of meat and all rice.i went in to return the food and they wanted to give me my money back but i just wanted the meat.upon giving me the food back they told me not to comeback.please stay away from this place i highly advise against it the owner is rude and arrogant.a customer is keeping your shop alive and you're ruining their experience.hope this business learns the hard way rightfully
This is the first Chinese dumplings I took in Melbourne which is Good taste with quality. Normally we can find and buy many Chinese dumplings in Asian supermarket, or restaurants in many suburbs but with not natural nor fresh enough taste.
This restaurant is a small shop with few tables only. Their dumplings as said are their home made. Good to try.
I asked the person on the phone do u use MSG she no we don't! Well she lied because, l had breathing difficulties a few hours later on. Still not feeling good now.
Best dumplings we've discovered in the South Eastern Melbourne suburbs. And that's a big call as so much competition. Been back a few times and consistently good
Are you kidding? This little place cooking such awesome fare? The dumplings were excellent! Beef Satay was great in this style. Look, all the food was simply yummy. Nothing was oily or fatty. Singapore noodle was the best I have tasted in a long while. It is now the place of my choice for takeaway Chinese!
And the dumplings are still awesome!
Had pan fried pork dumplings and satay chicken
The food was amazing the meat portion size was 10/10 would highly recommend.
One of the best dumpling places you find in the area freshly steamed dumplings that has loose filling not this lumped. Meat ball that most average dumpling places has. Great food and not exspensive. Must try
Ordered 2x vegetable fried noodles and spring onion pancake for dinner (takeaway) and honestly the worst I’ve ever had in Melbourne. The pancake was powdery and tasteless - not crunchy at all either and all you could really taste was oil and batter.
You’d think stir fry noodles is straightforward and easy but ours turned out oily and again, not much taste to it at all. Even the vegetables tasted like nothing. We didn’t finish our food and this morning we both felt sick from the food last night.
Wouldn’t come back again, very disappointed given the raving reviews.
Very busy dine in or takeaway restaurant. If in rush, good to phone the order in, so that there is not so much waiting. Food is amazing. Everything on the menu, is so tasty. I really recommend the Satay chicken, fried noodles with beef is do nice too. I think you could order something from the menu. That you really didn't feel like eating. And it would taste like heaven. Highly recommend the food at this restaurant. Love everything on the menu. High regards to the chef.
Bit disappointing in this place for the fact I’ve been ordering for years! Ordered Uber via uber eats waited for 40 mins for my food to arrive and the uber driver delivered the wrong one and not what my money was worth. I called up the restaurant and explained the situation and said is there any chance of them remarking and I can return what I have received. The answer was a flat out no and the lady was like oh you have only lost $3.00 but what about the travel for uber and the priority delivery which wasn’t even a priority cause I wanted 40mins opposed to 20mins…. I know it’s not initially there fault but as a business you could at least look after your customers!
How did I not know about this place until now, especially living only 5 min drive away
Got myself some homemade steamed chicken and prawn dumplings and entree fried chicken wings for dinner last night. The flavours were amazing! Everything was so well balanced and full of flavour. The accompanying chilli sauce was delish I can't wait to try more of their dishes. Super reasonable prices, a totally hidden gem!
The owners are lovely and friendly. The food is nice, but not quite to my tasting. I've taken Chinese friends to this store and they say the food tastes very authentic. So I guess it must be good!
I like this place though, and I come often. So nothing bad to say
Ordered a chicken and corn soup and 90% of it was chicken skin/fat and the 10% of chicken in there was bright pink!
We order takeaway from here every Friday! Food is delicious and fast! Love the Singapore noodles and Kung Pao Chicken.
