Novotel Melbourne Glen Waverley reviews
49My family and I stayed here for 1 night recently on a "stay-cation". The Indian lady at reception was one of the most rude, unwelcoming people I've had the misfortune of meeting. Had no interest in engaging conversation at all. Luckily the Indian gentleman, I forget his name but he's bald, took over and was excellent and made our check-in process a pleasant experience. We ordered some drinks at the bar as we were a little early and the lady serving me barely spoke English! The rooms were very nice with comfortable beds and were spotlessly clean. The pool area was pretty uninviting, more like a dungeon that even my young kids wanted to leave! The breakfast was really good. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel, it's a pity my experience was soured a little by rude staff at the beginning.
Mark at the reception has always been very helpful, friendly & welcoming, Thanks Mark you are amazing.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, everything works as it should. Wonderful location if you like Asian food, brand new huge shopping centre at 5-10 minute walking distance. Train station nearby that brings you to the Melbourne centre in about 40 minutes for less then 5 AUD. Both stops (Flinders street & Glen Waverley) are end stops so very easy.
Filled in online check in form and expected to go in keys given and in but the process took a lot longer than expected, lot of computer checking another form to fill in, then my car was to high for there parking so had to park outside beside the road felt uneasy all night.
Maybe put the height limit of 2 meters on the webpage with other parking information to avoid this.
Breakfast was very good with a large selection to cover all tastes.
Overall a good experience and will go back just those couple of minor things that could be improved on.
This hotel is in a great location. Hotel rooms feel a tad bit outdated, but I'm sure most people use the room for sleeping and are usually out and about. Great amenities and plenty of parking. If I'm ever back in Melbourne for work, I would love to stay here again
I stayed at at this property, had harassment to my partner by other people, spoke to staff they said “sorry for the inconvenience” and just left at that. We had to leave the pool area and asked them to check the cameras. I had to make a police complaint because they didn’t do anything about it. Not recommended at all with families
When we arrived, there was only one person on the desk so we waited about five minutes in line to speak to him, we then got to listen to the constant ringing of the desk phone while we checked in which made the process really uncomfortable. It felt like there should have been at least one more person around to assist as there were also guests waiting to check in who had been asked to wait to the side.
Rooms were fine, bathrooms a little drab, but beds are super comfy.
Requested some small items from housekeeping and room service which were brought incredibly fast, so hats off to them, they're great!
Shout out to Chef Uday and Sathi for making our breakfast experience really special during our stay here. It has been the highlight of our stay.
Staff were very nice and food was great. Room was usual business like, unfortunately shower was in the bath, which was thin and so disappointing.
Restaurant/room service has a long wait and closes early.
Pillows are below average.
Great place to stay. I was there a week for business and they looked after me extremely well. I will definitely stay again.
Another great stay at this property.
Staff are friendly, welcoming as they are super efficient.
Rooms are well appointed and the bed is so comfy, offering a great night’s rest.
Breakfast offering (buffet) offers the usual fare with a great selection of breakfast pastries.
Well appointed gym, underground heated swimming pool and sauna offers more than adequate fitness for your well-being.
Location wise, is second or none with the Glen Waverley food precinct, cinemas, bowling alley and The Glen shopping centre within walking distance.
Looking forward to our next stay.
Nice hotel located in Glen Waverly. The rooms are good, near and clean. The train station is located pretty close to the hotel. There are malls as well great restaurants located close to the hotel. The staff is polite and friendly. Parking facility is available but on chargeable basis. Overall a great experience staying at this hotel. Recommended for family vacations as well.
I was placed in a small room right behind the elevators. It was incredibly hard to get a decent nights sleep.
While parked in a “secure” parking area, someone drove out, hit my car and have left me with an extra $600 to pay for the insurance excess. There are CCTV cameras at the entry and the exit but none in the main car park. Any car could be broken into, vandalised or hit by another car and there is no CCTV to record it. This is NOT a secure parking area and it urgently needs CCTV cameras.
Unfriendly staff. When I asked the Manager for a short letter to my insurance company to inform them about the damage to my car, they refused. This car park is definitely not secure or safe.
No mini bar.
No room service.
No crockery or cutlery.
No lunch available
The evening menu is very limited and expensive.
Totally unimpressed and will not stay here again.
Just checked in. So far so good!
Have to say, slightly faded based on previous stays.
Worst experience ever. I had mud water from the shower and tap and the flush stopped working mid shower. The receptionist was terribly rude and didn’t compensate at all for the experience. The receptionist Thong Tran had the most terrible customer service ever experienced and made me feel it was my fault. They called me and told me the water issues had been fixed when they hadn’t. Do not recommend this hotel.
I had asked for quote and told will be email by last Wednesday. Still waiting for quote from Rebecca until now. Thx
Accommodation near all the restaurants you can think off. Handy location on one of Melbourne's arterial roads namely Springvale Road
A lovely hotel, clean beautiful room, comfortable bed and great shower.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Great wi-fi.
Perfectly positioned short walking distance to the train station, great local dining and the Glen shopping centre.
Hats off to May, the hotel hostess, for being so thoughtful and helpful when I attended a conference yesterday. Excellent customer service!
