North Melbourne Pool reviews
19 Great 25m pool, and kids pool.
Love hate relationship with swimming. Did it when injured and couldn't run, and when doing triathlons. 1500m. On a clear sunny but not hot day water clear as crystal and can see from one end of the pool to the other. Inviting. Hot days though, busy and water start to make me imagine, broth:) It's not of course.
Under pressure now with all the extra people. And I hear difficulty getting staff.
Bought a membership but then turned away on two different occasions due to staff shortages. What's the point of a membership then? And how do you use up your swims? Notification of pool closure in advance for other reasons such as school carnivals and special events would also be appreciated. Maybe an app? Or message on the website? Save having to turn up and be turned away.
Worst pool I have ever been to can’t even make splashes when doing laps highly do not recommend terrible wouldn’t come agin
Nice outdoor pool but unfortunately unable to get in for the last 2 years everytime my son and i tried going, there has been a long queue outside, no details why there arent letting people in but the pool is just a quarter full and we have to wait till someone leaves before someone is allowed in after several times trying and waiting for 20 mins we have to change our plans and we end up at the beach instead. We wont attend this pool anylonger. If you are planning to go be prepared to wait on long long queues or be there the first thing in the morning.
Your opening hours on public holidays are very vague. ‘Public holiday may differ’ or ‘Refer to Facebook’ it says. Understandably a lot of hours changed during covid. But yesterday the front desk confirmed to my face that the pool would open on Labour Monday. Today, on Labour Monday, it is closed. It doesn’t hurt to put up a sign and educate your employees about your own working hours - part of public service after all.
Cheers.
Lovely period outdoor pool. Clean and tidy with great facilities with hot showers a real treat especially. Surprisingly not to busy either on a 27DegC Melbourne day
North Melbourne pool.wonderful, as always. Never too full for lap swimming. Friendly staff. You still have to book and they're using Qcode entry and exit.
Love it. But with all the social media available they need to start using it more and letting patrons know about hourly capacity. Plenty of people having to line up due to covid capacity restrictions.
If the swimming pool can be open all year. Really grateful and wonderful. Because the population growth rate cannot meet the needs of locals
For a pool of its size. Great. And if outdoors is important to your swimming experience, its way better than the Melbourne City Baths. If you're looking for Olympic size though, this isn't the pool for you. MSAC or Brunswick are the closest to the CBD for that.
I checked the website prior to driving to the NM pool and also called, north the website and phone IVR states the pool opening hours with no other restrictions. I drove 15 minutes to the pool only to be told that it was closed from 9-3 for school bookings. Very poor service!
Easy parking nearby and the pool is very child friendly. The pool fee is reasonable and there is a 2hr session time which prevents overcrowding. You will enjoy this if you have children. Mostly in the sun, so wear sunscreen and bring your hat.
Always loved this pool. Clean, good facilities, friendly. Coming here for over 20 years. Now I bring my young daughter and she LOVES it!
Hi,
When are you opening this year? We'd love to visit and are hoping that you might open a bit earlier than normal given the restrictions on many other things. Leonie
Easy going, clean.there's lawn to lie on.not sceney and gross like fitzroy pool or full of perverts like city baths.
The pools remind me of Oak Park and Coburg and northcote and northcote pools they have pools on the inside and outside It's a good place to bring family and friends and to make friends
I love this pool it's so clean, such a pleasure to swim in. I just wish it was open all year round. The staff are helpful and friendly. A terrific place to swim laps.
I love this pool. A wonderfully clean outdoor 25m pool, often quiet enough you don't feel like you're fighting for space. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they're passionate about building and supporting the community. I do miss the 80s power ballads they played in the change rooms however!
Quick visited today all facilities and the change room looks clean and the staff is very friendly.
