Noodle Gourmet reviews
17The food is very nice, but there is a downside to this business and that relates to Merchant fees that are being charged for buying your food with card. I bought a meal today that cost me $16 and would have had to pay 50 cents or equivalent to a 3% Merchant fee. Businesses are not permitted to charge more than the fee they are charged by the eftpos Merchant provider and the fee shouldn't be more that 1.1 to 1.9 %.
Ordered food that didn't arrive and was offered a refund of less than the cost of the dish.
$3.50 for a bottle of water plus 50c because I paid by card. Never coming back again or recommend.
Ordered two serves of pan fried pork dumplings and received two serves of what seemed to be undersized chicken dumplings.
The dumplings looked as if they had only been on the pan for a few seconds and barely fried at all so they stuck together when delivered.
Over all it was a bad experience with incorrect dumplings that were soggy and inedible.
It has been awhile since my last visit but the memory remains - Their Laksa Noodle. Disarmingly, balanced, rich, delicious and generous. I might not be the second coming of Anthony Bourdain (RIP) who travelled the world but I always thought that my own rendition was worthy of mention. This was quite notable Laksa. A bit fiddly to share though, have a napkin handy!
ORDERED ONLINE. WAS UNNECESSARILY CHARGED $8 WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT. UNETHICAL AS IT WAS NOT LISTED ON THE MENU PRICE
Noodles were good but the spring rolls and dumplings were not so great. Also could do with a bit of an update, very dated and not in an authentic way!
Used to be a great noodle place full of ingredients and flavour. Ordered 3 dishes all with maybe 4 pieces of meat, with a few small frozen prawns and 95% plain noodles. Dont know why you would make this stingy change? !
This used to be the only place I'd get my noodles from as they used to be so full of flavor and just in general the best around the area.
Unfortunately the quality has gone down big time, there is no flavour an really disappointing. Same owners aswell so not sure if they are buying cheaper ingredients.
Huge let down. Ratio of meat to vegetables - 10% meat 90% vegetables: (expect better when paying $18 a dish. Definitely won’t be going back
Ordered mee goreng with rice noodles for dietary requirements. Rice noodles provided, however riddled with egg noodle! Dry and very little sauce.
Ordered vegetarian dumpings and veggie fried rice- upon arriving home i realised they had given me pork dumplings and no egg in my rice. I called up to ask for them to cook me new dumplings, they said it would be 10 minutes. So i arrived there 10 minutes later and they hadnt even started cooking them. I had to wait almost 20 minutes before they were done and there was no apology for the inconvenience- for the record, the dumplings werent even good i didnt end up eating them. On a seperate occasion i ordered veggie fried rice and again it came with no egg. The fried rice was nice but they didnt cook it correctly
Very busy as very popular so need to plan for the wait. The quality of the food is worth the wait!
Prices on Menus are wrong.
Staff tried to overcharge for a $19.50 prawn dish, claimed price was more, said prices had changed.
Every menu inside the place, including the order booklet says $19.50
They also attempt to charge a surcharge for eftpos, even though this is now against the law.
Staff were then yelling in another language, very rude. So I left, went across the road and got thai food instead which was cheaper, and very delicious.
I would give Noodle Gourmet 0 stars if that was an option.
Avoid. Drive up to Kerrimuir shops on Middleborough road instead if you want good noodles.
Been ordering from here for years now. Food is always consistent and tasty and the prices are good. Like them even more since they got eftpos!
THIS PLACE LOOKS LIKE IT HAS CLOSED DOWN. WENT THERE YESTERDAY TO GRAB LUNCH AND PLACE WAS CLOSED.
