No.21 Restaurant reviews
29We're from the UK, so we were excited to see so many different dishes available. I'm gluten intolerant, so it was great to have a couple of GF items on the starter menu which I hadn't tried before. The onion bhajis were cold and crunchy - a completely different plate, while the Dahi Bhalla Chat was just delicious. Both entrees were easily big enough to share. The curries were nice. I'd recommend the Punjabi Chicken. And have a mango lassi if you can. They're freshly made and amazing. Lovely waiting staff too.
During our first visit to Melbourne, we explored numerous restaurants, and to our delight, No 21 restaurant stood out as a hidden gem. Not only was the food delicious, Even Presentation of food was very attractive. Service was very quick and budget friendly.
We love red bell cauliflower specifically it was super delicious and never found ever. Highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely food
Hope visit again next time
We are never disappointed at this fabulous restaurant, The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The staff helpful and friendly. The new menu out yesterday is a joy - so many delicious Paneer dishes to choose from. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was good. Though disappointed by the advertising outside, there were several signs of 25% discount for dine in which drew me in as a single diner. At payment, was told that the discount only applied for orders above $60. The signs did not say that, rather disappointing way to finish a meal.
In reply to the owner: telling at the end of the meal when paying is not good enough, the terms and conditions should have been clear and posted somewhere or on the sign, so customers can make a educated decision and not be misled. And your T&C is not published anywhere near the sign, meaning this could easily changed by you at anytime to not honour your discount.
Based on the sign you created, the sign condition it suggested was dine in. I did relook at the sign when leaving, I saw the very small print and different colour writing of the “T&C applies” after the meal. The T&C could easily be included in the sign. Poor reply and experience trying to support a local business.
First time here. Preceded the Chicken Maddras, Lamb Korma, Coconut and lime rice, Garlic and cheese Naan.
Excellent service, very friendly waitress who apologised for misplacing our order and provided an extra entree whilst we waited.
Food quality was tasty and meat was tender. Naaan bread was a generous serving.
Price was very fair and could have easily been shared between 3 people.
Ive been looking forward trying this place for a while. However, unfortunately found that most of the food was lacking in flavour. We had the Paneer tikka masala which was bland, the garlic naan did not have a good garlic flavour, the samosa chaat was okay but needed more yogurt/zing. All in all the prices were good and the portions were decent but probably won’t be coming back.
Roti was was too oily and was way too crispy like a biscult.over cooked.no eye for detail.not worth the money.will not order here again and wouldn't recommend this place.
Really wished to give 5 stars for the food, the cost of food, cleanliness and the quantity per serving.
Food is outrageously good and so is ambiance. I am not sure how they would keep up to serve on a full house day with one serving staff.
You don't charge $2 just for debit card transactions that's not cool.
You also don't charge $1 just for the take away boxes, atleast you should have courtesy to inform consumers in the beginning of the order.
We booked to have dinner here because of the reviews - we were not disappointed! Many choices on the menu - very friendly staff and great service - we had the No. 21 special curry (lamb) and the spinach and lentil curry. Beautifully presented and delicious. The pistachio kulfi for dessert a highlight to finish! We’ll be back…
Most delicious Indian food I have had in any city in any country. Hands down.
Close your eyes and point to anywhere on the menu and I’d wager it’ll be the tastiest food you’ve ever eaten at an Indian restaurant.
Nicest people you’ll meet, too.
Great local Indian restaurant with delicious food and great surroundings and service. One of our favourites.
The food was really good, not too spicy nor bland. Staff was friendly, a good experience!
We liked Cauliflower dish alot!
Beautiful setting, lovely dinner
We were fortunate to celebrate a special birthday dinner for tour recently. Very nice, pleasant ambiance. Wonderful service, most attentive, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed cocktails, brought our own wine and paid corkage, enjoyed delicious crab cake appetizers, split salads and each ordered an entree. Everything was delicious. I was stunned that the bill was nearly $600. Just be prepared.
Dal Makhni was too salty and paneer was too chewy. Portion size is small. Disappointed.
Response for the owner: - we did say about the same to the person on counter and the response was "ohhh".
If your looking for very good Indian food then this is your spot. Food was fantastic, got to get the puri puri and the cauliflower from the street food. From the mains the highlight was the fish curry. Food timing was perfect, good waiting time after each dish Waiter super friendly and talkative. All in all really nice spot
Incredible. Came here last night with my mum for dinner and it was just incredible. The food was perfect and it was.abit spicy which was good. Nice little joint highly recommend this place!
Exillent service, very regoinable price, and best food ever, will come back definatetly i will come back.
Thanx
Such a great restaurant to have authentic modern Indian food. The presentation is a visual delight to the eyes and the ambience of the place is just so beautiful. The staff was really friendly and specially both the chef's were too welcoming. The food has an amazing unique concept that is Indian food with a fusion. Specially the spinach lentil curry was beyond the expectations (tbh i dont love spinach but the curry was so good). If in Melbourne cbd and looking for modern Indian food then strongly recommended.
Amazing food with warm welcome.
You can’t have better lamb dish than this place. It was phenomenal
South style fish curry is what dreams are made of. All our dishes were perfect and delicious. Service was friendly. What a find!
