Nihao Kitchen reviews
34We found Nihao Kitchen underwhelming.perhaps our choice of dishes or our expectations too high after reading they were awarded a Good Food Hat this year.
My mob has been regular a customer at Ni Hal over the past two years, usually for largish (expensive) family celebrations. Sadly, for our past two visits we have noticed a decline in the friendliness and competence of the customer service. Worse still, some of our favourite dishes have disappeared off the menu and the quality of the food served has declined.
We booked out the top floor and we had 31 people for dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Nice evening
Really delicious and consistently great food. Helpful and friendly wait staff. Would recommend.
Authentic Cantonese cuisine at reasonable prices- highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving some Cantonese cuisine - the service is excellent, the food is tasty and we cannot fault the decor and setting of the restaurant. We got the fujian fried rice - it’s delicious!
The quality is great but for $50 I got very little Cantonese beef and very little bean curd in my dishes. A huge rip off really.
Pork ribs is very delicious, eggplant dish outstanding. All the dishes are good. Price on menu is on the higher side but serving size is large. Overall satisfying dinner.
Faultless! Very spacious and pleasant atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, food just delicious, absolutely loved the black truffle fried rice, and portions are very generous, I will come back for more. I so enjoyed my lunch that I ordered take away for dinner ha ha ha well done Team Nihao!
Wide range of dishes and flavours, well presented and delicious.
Bright, busy venue with good space for groups as well as couples.
Absolutely horrified at the service. My family were there to celebrate lunar new year when the OWNER of the restaurant FLIPPED OFF my grandfather when he inquired politely how long until the food would arrive. We were all shocked speechless. Then he tried to laugh it off. The owner said “do you want to see a magic trick? ” And bam! He pulls out the RUDE FINGER.
0/10 would not recommend unless you like rude people.
Nice decor and average food; pork vinegar dish was tough but tasty; boss was too familiar with one of our friends at our table of five, by using the four letter word a few times in describing his previous experience with a rude customer, thus not respecting the ladies at our table. His uncouth behaviour perhaps was due to his inebriation. James
I went to this place for dinner with friends last weekend. The female staff and the male restaurant manager got angry faces all the time, and being very very very rude.
Overcharged for steamed fish, which is outrages definitely.
The manager who takes order is with poker face all time, and saying nothing but just standing by my side which makes me feel like hassling customers to quickly eat and go ….
I have to idea why the owner would hire these people to ruin the restaurant.
I will never come back to this place!
I barely leave comments no matter good or bad ones. But for this one I recommend anyone who wants to give it a try think carefully before you spend money and be treated like this.
Not only the food is excellent, the friendly cautious service also make our dining so memorable.
Wow! Didn't have to travel far for delicious Chinese food. We ordered the banquet with lobster everything came in massive servings and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish as they came out fresh and piping hot. Service from the owner was hilarious, he's such a character. Will go back to try the other dishes, including their duck.
WOW…
I Just got the worst Chinese food
I have ever had in my life…
Honey chicken taste like fish and has been sitting there to the point it was like cardboard. Also got the most flavourless black bean I have ever had!
Never coming back again.
Didn’t think anyone could ever serve food that bad.
Pretty small grungy restaurant - probably best to get takeaway. Good value. Food fairly well done for the price
Absolutely one of the best Chinese Restaurants in Melbourne!
The food is superb and the staff are a delight, a shout out to Emily for her fantastic service and cheery demeanor, you could see the smile through her mask. Cant wait till the next visit.
Clean place, subtle music, neighbouring tables not too loud.
Food looks good, taste goood, a bit pricy but understandable at current cost of goods.
Waiters attentive but not obtrusive.
Food is almost always good, rarely is it inconsistent but there are definitely off days for them.
Great food great service, love their environment and food, alot of choice on the menu, I have order the pun choi for cny dinner, love it very much
