Friendly volunteers running the place, very informative. 3.75 planes on display. They have an Avro Anson that needs a wing - had both engines that can work. 1.4km walk with notes about the RAAF buildings there in the 1940s. I was lucky, once a month they open the Aeradio building, the last of 16 such in Australia. Steve was my guide, great knowledge of the radio operations.

Don't bother, not open, so rang phone number as stated. Only open 2 or 3 times a year. Need to alter tourism pamphlets, poster on door and internet info

Aviation centre closed when we passed but was able to look in the window at the aircrafts. Good donation camp on site, with toilets, nice grassed area. Can also do the heritage walk with sign boards remains of the WW2 RAAF base.

I went there when the centre was shut but it was a lovely place to camp overnight, a few people but was very calm and quiet. Distant enough that you can’t hear the trucks or cars, great place for an overnight stay. I couldn’t find the toilets but I have heard they have some open for the campers.

On our way to Melbourne We had a very nice experience with Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre. Volunteer Allan is so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of this training base. There is also a Link Simulator there which is also very interesting. The toilets are very clean. Worth the visit. Let us keep this heritage centre keep going. Thank you.

Wow, the volunteers are full of knowledge and experience they went over and above and showed us the communication room not on site. Stayed in grounds overnight donation box near tables. Please give to keep this place going. Toilets are clean and tidy at Heritage site. Dump point.
Well worth checking out.

We stayed here for a few nights and were so surprised at how well it was organised. A credit to all those involved, they've done a wonderful job. The history boards are fascinating to read. Highly recommended

The Museum was closed but as a base for a free camp it was excellent. Very friendly neighbours and close to the city of Nhill. Check opening hours as a view through the window makes me want to return.

A small but unique number of aircraft that served the RAAF at Nhill during the war years, a worthwhile visit.
