New Mexico

Recently ate at this restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. The food tasted horrible, this is not Mexican food! I don’t mean to be rude but I ended up getting my food takeaway and gave the remanding food to my dog.

I used to be a loyal customer of New Mexico when it was under previous ownership. You can see my glowing review from when this restaurant was just getting started. However, I was very disappointed with the new management's performance. The food lacked the original taste. The tacos were flimsy and broke easily. The meat in both the taco and the paella was charred too much. Even the salsa was soggy and messy. Lastly, the previous owner was a great host. He was kind to my kids and was very tentative to his customers. The new owners have a big challenge ahead of them, and I hope they succeed, but it's not the same anymore.

Amazing food and amazing service. Cocktails delicious. Very generous servings. Would 100% recommend to everyone!

We had a great dinner here. The owner was so friendly and attentive, and made our kids dinner very special. All the food we ordered was delicious and in generous portions. Great to have a good local Mexican place and we will definitely be back.

I usually don’t write reviews for restaurants but I just had to for New Mexico. The food was absolutely amazing, the freshness, textures and size portions were would you expect and more. Each dish had their own unique take to it and it didn’t just taste any food you can get from another other Mexican restaurant, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into each dish, which we appreciated. I came with a party of 10 and they were so catering to such a large group on a Friday night too. Half the group shared food and the other group ordered individual meals and they were so accommodating to that too. The servers were so lovely and the owner came in to check on us a few times to make sure we were all well fed and accommodated for. Highly recommend to everyone.

Goes above and beyond to accommodate. Great food, good area, good price and even better service. Managed to get us a table even though they were booked out. Waitresses working tonight were amazing! Thank you

First time coming here, I was definitely impressed. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. I can see why they had a full house. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Staff are very friendly, sangria lovely, food was yummy, though the paella a little dry. The bench seats are hard. I suggested to the owner that some cushions would be good.

Great food and atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious, 5 dishes and 3 desert's. Definitely will be back.

Nice little Mexican restaurant just a few minutes drive from Watergardens shopping centre. Really friendly owner and staff. The prawn taco and chicken wings are amazing. Reasonable price and big portion. The only thing that I didn't like is that the salsa sauce is too watery.

This is simply the best Mexican food I have ever had. Flavours are amazing! And 10/10 to the owner for the service he provides.

So many mexican places are so average but this place is way above average it was amazing.
I will return and i will be telling my friends to come and try.

A friend recommended this place and she told us about the lovely owner and the good food. Both was better than expected, we immediately felt welcome after we arrived and got a bowl of cornchips and salsa while we waited for our food. Definitely a nice experience and good food! Will be back soon!

Love this Mexican restaurant the flavour in the food are amazing, the desserts are just as amazing, the staff are very friendly and thoughtful, I highly recommend. This will be my new hang out place!

Insanely delicious mexican food and the customer service was unbeatable! The manager/owner frequently checked up on us throughout our meal and our experience was nothing short of perfection. We ordered a variety of food including the tacos, paella, elote, a margarita and their home made soft drinks. Everything was 10/10 and the owner even gave us some free goodies on top of our already delicious meal. Would highly recommend this place to anyone! My new favourite restaurant and will definitely be coming back ️

We ordered the Fish Taco, Pulled Pork Burrito, Slow Cooked Beef Brisket Quesadilla, and had the Ice Cream Banuelos for dessert.

Best fish taco we’ve ever had, burrito and quesadilla was super tasty and high quality. The Ice cream Banuelos was the perfect dessert to end the meal on. Service was also top notch, can’t fault this restaurant even if I tried. 100% recommend if you’re in the area. It’s super nice to have a high quality restaurant in the west of Melbourne. Also… the portion sizes fit the price!

This is a hidden gem. The food was amazing, full of flavours, great portions and really good value for money. Wish I wasn’t driving because they also have a great selection of drinks! Can’t wait for our next visit!
