Housed in Trades Hall, the historic home of the Victorian trade union movement, New International Bookshop is one of the few remaining new and used bookstores in the Melbourne CBD. It stocks a large collection of leftwing and progressive books.

Very cheap fiction books and reasonably priced non fiction! Such a great collection and some lovely volunteers. Always worth a visit!

Really interesting bookstore…however the sales assistants were playing country teasers songs at full volume (no doubt for their own entertainment). How is anyone expected to concentrate with that blasting in their face? ! Also it seems that his pompous, populist cowboy hat seems to contradict the alternative, anarchic vibe and the type of books they sell. If you really must play something, how's about some Taylor or a reading of wordsworth's poetry? May I suggest the Prelude.or something with a bit of taste?

One of my favourite places in Melbourne. New and second-hand books with affordable prices.

Quite the extensive range of materials and subjects, a literal goldmine in terms of leftist/progressive/radical material. An activist/social justice warrior's must visit while in Melbourne!

Super duper amazing prices, everything is literally $1-5! The staff are kind, patient and understand. I'd recommend this place to any book lover: D

Very kind and helpful people work there. I wish I knew the lady's name who I have in mind. She was very helpful and showed me kindness I will always remember. Thank you.

Huge selection of cheap used books, and good new books on left politics, as well as activist tshirts, stickers, etc

Great range that offers new titles regularly, excellent prices and housed in an iconic building.
