New Footscray Automatics

I wasn’t going to leave a review but everyone I’ve told this story to has pushed me to due to the sheer ridiculousness. My car broke down a fortnight ago. RACV told us it was the alternator, and so we sourced one. We spoke to someone on the phone who agreed they are happy to change the alternator. Firstly, we got a call asking how to open the bonnet, which was the first red flag. Secondly, we get a call saying the car had yet to be looked at but the door was broken (by apparently “falling on him”. How this is possible I have no idea) to which he accepted accountability for, but refuses compensation. THIRDLY (yes there’s a third), almost daily for two weeks, we called to get an update on our car to which there was never one. Starting to get frustrated, at the end of the second week we get a call to say he can’t change the alternator. That day we picked it up and had a mechanic do an inspection and change the alternator within 2 hours. SO, two weeks we went without a car for absolutely no reason, and our car came out in worse condition than it went in, with absolutely no compensation. I’m not sure what exactly the deal is with this place and if the other reviews are genuine. The card we were given was for a Brett, but it was a Dave that we were dealing with. Anyway, it’s been hell but thankfully we are happily back on the road now with no thanks to these guys.

Friendly honest service without costing a fortune, am very happy with the Transmission Service that was done on my Mazda 6 and will return again.
