72Spectacular food, friendly service, and nice, laid-back atmosphere. Definitely a gem you shouldn't miss!
The spicy tofu ramen was so impressively flavourful, it was a treat on the tongue. The flavours lasted on my pallet for hours - other eateries pale in comparison to the meal I had today. The balance of flavour between the umami, herbs and spices was like anything I have had before.
Food is ok. Plenty of vegan options - thus the 4 stars. Super small snack shop vibe.
Good for a quick bite or takeaway.
Kitchen:
I found the ramen I ate in Japan: Gourmet, original, well-balanced in flavors and a creamy broth that I like.
I also tested the kibbles which I loved. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a sauce to die for!
A large part of the menu is vegan, which attracted me to this place.
Service: Fast and friendly staff.
Atmosphere: The table layout is original and the restaurant is located on a street with a very pleasant bourgeois-bohemian atmosphere.
Previously when eating here, they actually used hand made noodles for the tan tan ramen. When i recently visited them again last week, although the broth wasn't bad but was disappointed when they substituted in soggy 2 minute noodles.
The cashier was not very helpful in being able to distinguish ramen noodles prior to ordering.
Excellent menu, the perfect amount of options (not an overwhelming amount to choose from) with plenty of vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options. Various seating options, we sat at the communal triangle table in the centre which is great! Meals are tasty and wholesome. A gem for Gertrude
If u are not eating meat but u do love ramen, this is the place to be if u do eat meat but u want to have amazing ramen, this is the place to be.
Excellent vegan ramen. And I am definitely not a vegan type of person.
It’s not the typical traditional Japanese style but it’s so special and has so much flavor that I do get it. And it just tastes excellent.
Tiny place with great Japanese flavours and friendly staff
No bookings taken but we didn't have to wait long
The spicy tofu ramen I had was super delicious. Portion was large so it's bang for your buck. Broth was filled with flavour. All vegan menu so there's tons of cruelty free options!
Went here with a friend who was only visiting Melbourne for three days and we chose this as dinner night 1, had a wonderful energy with delicious food
Had a new menu item - the vegan pork ramen - and let me tell you, never had a meal that every mouthful elicited an 'mmm' or 'this is so good'. I wish I had more right now. It was great.
A fun and friendly ramen space with excellent vegan options. Unfortunately the Tan-Tan Men was a little one note and the spicy tofu ramen wasnt hot enough. Still a great place just beware it is a small place and is often packed.
THE BEST VEGAN RAMEN! The food took a little long to come and is pricey but it was definitely worth it. There was so many ingredients. The waitress was so friendly and Japanese herself. Also had the matcha drink which is homemade with premium matcha and soy and that was delicious as well though a little expensive. We got the spicy ramen and normal ramen. I can’t wait to try the curries and like the pescatarian options.
Delicious vegan and gluten-free bento and ramen options in generous portions. Intimate casual dining area with communal and window seating. Highly recommend the Agedashi tofu bento set.
Everything about this place is awesome, mouth-wateringly delicious dishes in a gorgeous little restaurant with super friendly staff. So so good
A great little Japanese lunch spot - I like their beans and potato croquette bento (although it's a little expensive)
Good vegan ramen, but not the best I ever had. My friends and I had three different ramen and we all found them way too salty. Overpriced, especially with a 10% surcharge on saturdays that we didn't know about. Restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived so we wanted to sit at the big table in the center but the woman said no and sat us in the corner, restaurant was still nearly empty when we left. Will not go again.
Extra 10% surcharge on Saturday
the night club next door is too loud.
Good ramen
Open until late
Love it! Tbh I like how the sides have heaps of veggies. I ordered tofu and eggplant Bento Box. The glaze is amazing, mushroom flavour makes it even better. The eggplant is soft and full of flavour. My frd ordered curry fried salmon with rice, looks good. Fyi, they only have a staff toilet, you will need to ask to access it. The food is definitely not cheap but for the quality and quantity, I think it's worth it! Will definitely go back and try the ramen next time
