44Very up and down experience with the Mitcham store. Some of the staff are very helpful but others don't want to know you. When we placed our initial order they were keen to take our money but when we were some tiles short and placed a second smaller order, they took ages to get the order to us. I had to constantly follow up, their phone manner was poor and they never got back to me when promised resulting in further follow up and phone calls from me. I would never buy tiles from this store again.
They only care about money, not you. We ordered greyish tiles for our ensuite. Got multiple messages the order is ready, pay the balance and book delivery. We called the call center, they said it has been delivered when we haven’t actually paid the balance and didn’t book delivery. Went in the store and after investigations, they realised it hasn’t been delivered. The next day we got a call, sorry we don’t have the tiles and you have to wait for a month. Stress and headache, had to go to the office 7: 30am to choose different tile as promised by the manager he will upgrade. Went in store, didn’t upgrade and wasted our time. Came back home received an email that they got the tiles from another order and will deliver on the day. The tiles got installed, we arrived at the property and they are white. The grout and silicone are grey because we ordered greyish tile but national tiles decided to deliver white tiles. Now we have to go through hassle to buy another grout and silicone. The manager was very rude and mistake after mistake. If I could rate them negative, I would have.
Got some free samples, staff were friendly (when they arrived after being alone at the service desk for 10 minutes), kitchen looks good. However, I had 2 boxes of tiles left over, unopened, untouched, and I had my receipt but was told they wouldn't refund less than 3 boxes. Disappointing policy, and now I have 2 boxes of tiles lying around and I'm out of pocket $70
Absolutely disgusted by the customer service I received today, I will never return to this store or national tiles.
I was about to order over $5k worth of outdoor tiles but the sales person was so rude and spoke to me in such a demeaning tone and manner that my wife and I just left the store.
I did not get the persons name but he should definitely not be in a customer facing role as he does not know how to speak to people.
Get him out of your store as he’s an absolute idiot.
We’ll be going elsewhere to buy our tiles and won’t be recommending national tiles whatsoever!
This review is based on phone customer service. As a builder I find dealing with National tiles very frustrating, the trade service area just doesn’t return calls, I actually have to drive there and go in (yep, this morning and yes my order was there and I hadn’t been contacted) even though the phone message says “we will call you back in 30 minutes’. When I mentioned to a staff member they don’t call back I was told ‘yes we do’, this has happened to me about 5 times recently. The owner needs to organise some friends to call in and see for themselves.
Walked into the showroom. No other customers in there. We spent 10 minutes looking around without any sales personnel even giving us so much as a hello! Sorry Frank… we won’t be coming back and spending our cash with you.
Bought tiles here for bathrooms renovation. Looking great. Spoke to Beth, she’s kind and professional.
Similar poor experience to others who have left reviews. Customer service is very poor. Chasing an order I tried calling and after waiting an age decided to opt for their call back option. Left my details but never heard back. Tried calling again later the same day but couldn't get to actually speak to someone. On experiencing the same issue the following day, l decided to email my enquiry. Still waiting for a reply! There are plenty of other tile suppliers who actually answer the phone without it turning into a saga, I shall be using their services and not National Tiles
No staff were available. Also, the tiles are poorly categorised and displyed, which made us confused in choosing. Needs better and well organised sections.
I've been here twice. The first time there was only one staff member and 3 to 4 groups of customers. Customer service was non existent, not even an acknowledgement. We still managed to find the tiles we thought we liked and decided perhaps to come back a second time.
Second time we were there, the female staff memeber that assisted us was very helpful, friendly and answered all our questions well. But then another staff member suddenly appeared and started verbally attacking me. I hadn't even a chance to turn around to see who was behind me as I was seated next to the wall and my husband which made it hard for me to turn around. My husband was standing next to her and he turned slightly towards her. But she did not look at him at all and directed her verbal ambush facing at me directly.
Honestly I had no idea what her actual words were as I was so caught by surprise and upset by the whole incident. My husband also experienced anxiety at the carpark from this incident and then lost his laptop there.
The last thing you would expect is to be verbally attacked by shop staff.
I have been to 4 different nation tiles stores in last 3 month as we are renovating. Suda from Mitcham store was the nicest and most helpful. Highly recommend her.
Have had some issues in the past with these guys (over a decade ago), however gave them another shot given most other tiling joints aren't open Sundays. Great experience this time around with a brilliant range and friendly and helpful staff. Store easy to roam around and view range.
Could not have shown less interest in me if they tried. Came in before work, walked around for 10+ mins, looking to staff, but all busy with their own more important tasks. Yes, I could have asked for help, but I was the only customer in the showroom, so I at least expected to be acknowledged and asked if they could help. Oh well, I'll head up Johnson Tiles, they were great.
Terrible experience with this shop. Phone ordered few bag of sand 10 Days ago, they asked me to pick up in the shop, eventually they never get them and asked me to pick up from Port Melbourne… not happy at all
They called to say we could pick-up the tiles but when we got there they didn't have anyone who could drive the forklift to unload them from the pallet wracking.
What an experience with your Mitcham store. Everything in stock within your warehouses when we order, then when we pay and organise for delivery something magically isn’t. We been told to wait for a couple days for the warehouse to transfer, a week later we heard nothing back so we called. Then we were told to wait longer or we can drive an hour to your South Morang store to pick up. I seriously struggle to understand why we paid delivery fee in full but the actual delivery is incomplete.
Amazing staff. Great range of tiles. Both my floor and wall tiles were delivered on a pallet on time and the prices were very competitive. The tiles were placed exactly where I needed them on site.
Couldn't go into the show rooms, however staff very helpful and purchased samples that could be swapped over.
Great staff would totally recommend anyone looking for tiles to try this company. Thanks Karen.
Had to wait for a while to get help and took so much longer to get a sample.although might go there again due to good range of tiles and flooring options. Good to go and easy to choose as so many options on display
Can get crowded in afternoon so recommend going in morning
