Music Room reviews
28Mate bought me over to try something new, pretty happy with my experience, had an awesome time, will definitely be back
Reminds me of the former Potato Head Hong Kong but a bit crowded and perhaps we went too early - around 7ish in the eve? Crowd was very corporate lol but def crowded!
Warm, knowledgeable bartenders in an audiophile environment. Dancefloor can get packed on the weekends. Not sure about batched cocktails though.
Such a unique place, you'd never know this is on the second floor. Love the vibe and my drink!
Just discovered this gem and it’s my new favourite place ️ great music, great company, great vibes 10/10
Great hidden little bar within Melbourne. Stumbled across this place by chance and is always a must visit when I’m in Melbourne.
It's OK. The music is good but for me too loud and my friend and I had to shout at each other to talk so we only stayed for one drink. We ended up at the Gin Palace and loved it.
It was a blast, very moody bar in the nicest possible way the team were great and my cocktail Gaytime was a complete gem and a mind f*** what you saw was not what you tasted but brilliant in it's conception.
Great little bar with good music selection and impressive record collection. Love most of the cocktails that are made but not too sure about $22 espresso martinis on tap. Can be a little stuffy in there at times but fun vibe overall!
What a cool intimate place this this. Contemporary, great ambience. Brilliant sound system!
The coolest bar! Great DJs/music. I love the ambiance (not on a crowded night though) and super comfy sofas as well.
A gem I kinda don't want the whole of melbourne to know about the gaytime milk punch cocktail was super good!
Music Room’s weekend crowd is a huge turnoff for genuine music lovers. It has the potential to be a great place for listening to the best music selectors and having a boogie but the weird pushy crowd makes it pretty difficult to enjoy. Music selections, drinks, staff and the fit-out is excellent. Get rid of the wasted kids and this place could be a Melbourne institution
Super cool spot, good drinks & very lively.cocktails on the smaller side relative to price but still good
The bar ir great and the Dj was really good, but you can’t serve pre mixed espresso martinis like they were beer (literally the serve them from there) the waitress also looked really stressed even a little bit upset with the crowd, those vibes aren’t fit with the place, the two waiters are really friendly.
Waited an hour to get to the front of the line, only to be told it’ll be another hour at least to get to music room and only HER was available.
Fun music and comfy couches but they serve pre mixed cocktails just not good. My French 75 was flat and tasted like cheap wine that’s been sitting open in your fridge for days sorryyyy also my friends Manhattan was meh but freshly mixed ones are sm better
I was keen after reading the review in Broadsheet talking about the collection of over 3,000 vintage vinyl. I was there for 2 hours on a Thursday night (8-10Pm) and it was straight up house music the whole time - one beat, at volume. DJs were pulling vinyl from their own collections. The room is great. The sound is great. The playlist is pretty much the same as every other bar in Melbs. It's not like youd go here to listen to the music.
Cool vibe. Great tunes. Delicious drinks. Friendly staff. Only downfall is the place isn't big enough for the queue of people waiting to get in. We'll definitely be going back.
