Mushroom Kiosk reviews
19 Great price and value! Service was prompt, polite and thoughtful. Owner was friendly and took time to chat with us. Place looks cute, too. Good options, tasty food made with care. I like that the music isn't too loud. Gf and veggie options
I think some ppl might get confused when they see some instant noodles, luncheon meat, sausages or hashbrowns but that is what authentic hk cafe food is (western/ Chinese fusion), and this place is authentic/tasty and deserves a visit!
It's too bad that it's not more busy/well known bc it was good here. It might be good for them to put a sign on the side walk or put some promotional flyers at nearby schools, businesses or homes, bc I could see this place becoming really popular as a lunch spot, especially for students bc of the good prices.
Very Hong Kong fuel fish balls, the sauce is so yummy! Need to dip the very last bit of sauce with meat.
Love milk tea as well.
The unusual satay beef noodles are delicious. You can tell from watching and eating that the chef is very thoughtful.
Dropped by there as this place is an easy 7-minute drive from IKEA after doing some shopping there. It was easy to find free parking. There were some great snacks such as chicken wings and Shiu Mai. My favourite dish was the fish fillet in cream corn.
Average food nothing special. Average cafe atmosphere, nothing special for swan street. Staff ok. Wish them best of luck, I think they will need it.
Mushroom Kiosk is the Hong Kong cafe that Swan St deserved and needed!
Don't be fooled by the name - it's neither mushroom-focused nor a kiosk. The name is a nod to Hong Kong's street food culture.
The menu is relatively simple but with something for almost everyone. The HK-style French toast is as good as it looks. There's also a $21 lunch deal (possibly weekdays only) that includes a free drink, with the option of Hong Kong milk tea. I visited on the weekend and it was up to $30, but including a dessert.
It's a homely cafe with lots of space upstairs, and the service is super friendly. There's table service when eating in.
Lovely, friendly service and food. Cheff made appearance himself and explained few things and the history, which was cool. And cocktails, wow Super Awesome.
Baked Rice with Chicken King in White Sauce is delicious! It has a stir-fried base, is fragrant with eggs, and tastes good with enough chicken ingredients. The hibiscus egg rice is almost dry, you can give it a try. The milk tea can be better, the tea base can be improved, and the black and white milk can be reduced to a certain extent.
Baked cream sauce chicken with fried rice was very tasty. Milk tea could be improved. Comfortable environment and service was good.
Food quality is very average! I don’t understand why there are so many 5 stars! Maybe a thug.
Delicious Hong Kong style soul food made with fresh wholesome ingredients. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options. Generous portions and good value.
We really enjoyed our meals and will be returning.
Food was bad. Beef overcooked. All food were overpriced.
Lemon Tea cost $7 which for a small cup is extremely expensive.
Don’t know why ppl give them 5 star is totally not worth.
A relaxing place serving yummy Hong Kong style food with high quality. Milk tea, French toast and deep fried chicken thigh are must-try items The staff here are so nice and patient.
Definitely worthy to come to try the dishes with family and friends.
Authentic Hong Kong food and amazing milk tea. Their secret recipe for milk tea is better than some places I had in Hong Kong. The chicken chop on rice with black pepper sauce is great. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu. Definitely a hidden gem.
Amazing place to have a very tasty food! The vibe of the place is great with friendly people. Additionally it’s got a big 1st floor where it’s possible to come to dine by big group of people, which is cool for parties and celebrations I’m going to celebrate my birthday there
Excellent value for money. A little piece of HK. Deserves to be popular. Lots meat and vegetarian options.
Not sure why it's named mushroom kiosk, as mushrooms are not the primary ingredient
A great Hong Kong eatery. Delicious food, warm, friendly staff, gf & v options and nice atmosphere. The sets provide a lot of options and decent serves for a good price. And yes, the Hong Kong milk tea is the real thing. They have a plan to do egg waffles in the future. Will happily be a regular here.
French toast and fish balls were probably the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Loving their spirit of introducing HK culture to the locals!
The Chicken a la King was incredible and of course, the atmosphere was worth every moment in the restaurant. Kind owner and delicious food. What to ask more?
Staff was attentive and went out of their way to help me with vegetarian options. Good food, great experience.
