Mumchan reviews
39I think the portions are too small for the price of the side dishes. I tried to buy them because there was a lot of variety, but I couldn't buy a lot because of the quantity. But the chicken was delicious.
The worst Korean restaurant I have ever been. Food served in the smallest size you can imagine. Waitress finger touched down your plate. The only thing you can get from their soup is an egg+5 small cube of pork and then 2 spoons of tofu…
The chef was prepping noodles on one of the tables in the restaurant. We had to stand and wait for the chef to finish. Very busy and the food was wonderful but suggest they find a bigger venue so they have room to prep. Would eat their food again but maybe not dine in.
STINGY**** what a joke $20 for a bowl of bimbimbap & it literally had a tiny amount of pork I was laughing it was so pathetic lmao don’t eat here if u do you’ll see what I mean n regret it! Also bimbimbaps are easy to make every other Korean place does a wayyyyy tastier one. THUMBS DOWNNN never again! Stingy as ppl!
Soft tofu> A spoonful of tofu rolled in Shin Ramyun.
There is no earthenware bowl as shown in the menu photo.
There is no egg in the soft tofu. It is not tasty.sob
Rice> Dry, crushed grains of rice. Not tasty.
Side dish kimchi> A visual that makes you want to touch it with chopsticks
A smell like fermented skate stings my nose.
Didn't even touch it. Pass~
The side dishes are not tasty either. I feel deceived by the side dish store sign
If you want to buy side dishes, go to the Korean supermarket, not here.
If you're looking for something delicious.
The tap water I drank before the meal was the most delicious ^^
Ah. I should go and eat Cheeky Cheweis.
Side dish store soft tofu stew $21.21
We walk in and tell the employee that we are a group of 4. She says to wait a few minutes to clear an empty table.
Then saw a couple walk in through the back car park entrance and sit down on the table that was meant for our group.
The waitress disappeared into the kitchen and the manager at the counter told us that they were busy and couldn't accommodate us.
What the hell?
Next time I'll remember to barge past everyone and sit at the first empty table I see rather than wait patiently.
I wouldn't go back even if they paid me to eat there.
Cashier staff was unfriendly and will not attend to any special requests such as additional sauce on the side (which i was happy to pay for). Bad attitudes are the worst! Not worth this price point at all.
-The place a small. We are mixed with other group in 1 table.
-The serving is small and not worth the price
-We wait for long for the next serving
-The parking space is difficult.
You are travelling far to reach this place better choose other korean restaurant like Gami or Nene. It is not worth the travel
We have takeout delivery from this restaurant all the time and it's always been delicious. Their fried chicken, spicy raw crab and soondobu is the best I've had in Melbourne. I dropped by for the first time today and got a bit of food to take home and they gave me complimentary soy sauce eggs. One of my favourite restaurants in the West.
Regular here. Food is great, service good just overpriced. But overall is decent Korean eatery in the west
Mumchan is one my favourite Korean restaurant. I have ordered takeaway many times and never disappointed. I loved the Jajangmyeon and spicy tofu soup.
We ordered the snowy cheese fried chicken and bimbimbap - they were both delicious! I can't wait to try other foods they've got on their menu. Definitely lucky to have a great local Korean restaurant.
Reasonably priced and worth every cent. The quality of the food is top notch and feels very authentic like actual local food you buy in Korea. Been a couple times and will return many more.
My best advice is do not visit, overpriced beef Bulgogi, and the pieces are not thinly cut, makes it really difficult to chew. Mediocre service
It's pretty good. The selling point is their snowy cheese chicken and it's pretty damn tasty. Black bean noodles were ok but the portion was huge, so can't complain.
Such a gem of very authentic Korean crusine. Korean stone rice cooked to perfection. Stone pot is super hot and rice and content also very hot. Perfect for Winter to keep warm. Rice is slightly burn at the bottom makes the rice a bit crunchy, this is the best part of stone rice. This also come with their famous Korean side dish. Spicy pork taste really good and flavorsome. Soondoobu soup is light but full of flavour. Heaps of seafood inside. Only few tables inside, but serving is very quick. Plenty of parking in front and nearby. Price is average. Staff is very friendly too.
The BEST jjajangmyeon, bibimbap, fried chicken! Ah, basically everything is delicious! Love the freezers & fridges loaded up full of banchan, soups & reheatable dishes. One of the best korean places in the West
Have ordered takeaway from Mumchan a number of times, and the chicken is our favourite dish, possibly one of the best KFC I've had in Melbourne.
- boneless chicken: sweet soy is delicious, cheese snow is quite good too, the cheese is subtle and not overpowering. The crumbs used on the chicken are light and flavourful. I also love the coleslaw and pickled radish, so tasty.
- tempura prawn: delicious
- japchae: nice.
- jjajang myeon: my first time having this so wasn't sure what to expect. It was interesting and nice.
Ordered the weekly set and marinated crabs for delivery. I had to change my delivery address and the helpful staff were so kind to help me with it. The food is semi prepared, and there are instructions available on their website. We had the army stew and crabs tonight. It was so easy to cook and ready in no time. Plus it was really tasty! Would definitely order from here again.
Tangsuyook here was always outstanding and crispy but this time came as soggy with too much oil. Couldn’t eat more than 3 pieces and chuck it away. I am not so sure I would order again since they delivered one of the worst fried pork ever in my life.
