Mulgrave Private Hospital

If you are a courier, you will find that there is no common sense here. Just mindless bureaucracy and massive inefficiency. What should be a simple pick up of 2 specimens can take up to an hour.

I had a hip replacement done at Mulgrave and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful care they provided! From the administration team who were very friendly and offered kindness and empathy to ease my nerves on admission; to the nursing teams in theatre and on the wards who gave exceptional care and attentiveness. I also want to acknowledge the Physio team for their exceptional support throughout my stay. Thank you Mulgrave Private for exceeding my expectations!

Although the professionals took great care of my elderly but young at heart mum, it's disappointing that not one hospital staff member (nurses and her Dr) bothered to let my father, next of kin, not myself (kin) know what was going on and how she was progressing. Very sad for a 'private hospital '. (85 & 88 respectively). Have left more than one message for someone to call me. Patients are not always on their own. Having cared for my husband with cancer for 7 years before he passed, I would've thought that being in touch with a spouse and or family would be a given.

Beware, avoid this hospital at all costs. You are better off going to a public hospital where you will be treated with much more dignity.

The staff were amazing, especially ICu. Food was great and facilities were very nice. Highly recommended

I am currently a patient in this hospital and I have to say that it’s the best hospital that I have ever been a patient in. The medical staff are excellent as well as the nursing staff. They are focused on patient care, work as a team together and provide the highest level of care in a professional and dedicated manner
The catering, cleaning and administration staff are all part of a combined team.
Excellent in every aspect of a patient focused and professional and happy team.

We have a 2 hour drive to get here. This is the second surgery for THE SAME THING IN 5 WEEKS. Total stuff ups everywhere. We have top hospital cover and we were still charged $507.00 per admission for "excess", what excess? We were charged $150.00 out of pocket for the first anaesthetist and $380.00 for the second until I haggled that down, who haggled anaesthetic bills?
Far too much for what you get.
Husband with over 13 hours to have 1st surgery, and 2nd time he has waited over 3 1/2 hours after being "bumped" from 1st on the list. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

Could not have asked for better care. Kind and caring staff from front desk through to surgery and back.

The fantastic medical staff are let down horribly by the admin dragon demanding you pay 3 days' worth of stay even though you have a tac claim number. If you do not, you are threatened by being thrown into an ambulance and shipped off to a public hospital nearby. Even TAC said they are a disgrace when I told them this!

EDIT - (And yes, contrary to your reply below, I was covered for that entire day, but Mulgrave had the gall to take the emergency admission payment including ALL treatment for the day, & still ask I go to another hospital! All to make $ off of the same bed twice in a day!)

Bad experience.paid 380 bucks and waited for more than 5 hours. However, after that everything was good. Friendly staff and coordinator.

What a wonderful hospital. I have never met such lovely people. The staff are amazing! They even gave me a snack while i waited for my husband. Highly recommended

Just had an overnight stay at mulgrave private hospital after getting my tonsils out, staff were absolutely amazing all go above and beyond for there patients,
a massive appreciation to my nurse sarah, absolutely incredible so lovely and easy to talk to.thank you again to everyone, amazing staff xx

As a patient I was treated with kindness and respect the team seem to work very well together which reflects on the overall experience from being greeted at reception to pre-admission and recovery. I was also impressed with the next day follow up phone call to see how I was feeling. One of the best experience I’ve ever had other hospitals could learn from this team well done keep up the great work

A huge special thanks to Karen and Tiara down in the recovery area. Both were huge comforts to my son, myself and my family.
Also to Dr Webb and Dr Vallance - extremely grateful to you both for taking care of my son (he’s only 3) in the operating room and for being patient and kind to my family throughout.
Another special thanks to Lucy from the Harvie ward. Lucy was wonderful with my son and my family. She also took the time to play with my son and his monster trucks out in the hallway when he was getting a bit stressed.
You all have made a really big positive impact to us during what was a really stressful time xxx

Best private hospital around. Nurses are kind and show compassion.theyre not fake they show real care.

Thank you so much for the wonderful nursing care given to me during this last week. When I was feeling so very unwell the nurses were always there to help. With special mention to nurses Kat, Emma, Camille and Grace who were so caring. The hospital was very well set up in my room because I couldn’t go out and Donna the Cleaner kept it really fresh for me. The Doctors came often which was reassuring when we didn’t really know what was causing the problem. So again I thank everyone at the Mulgrave Private Hospital for their patience and care.
