Mulgrave Farmers Market reviews
30Great market, more stalls in warm weather, not many when cold but otherwise great quality!
Lovely farmers market, convenient location with paved surfaces, easy parking access. Playgrounds to keep the kids happy. Heaps of space, not cramped. Family and pet friendly.
Great little Farmer's Market with a good selection of produce and products! Friendly stall holders.
Seems today was not as exciting as other times. Our favourite breakfast people were not there. Nothing really enticed us to have breakcfast there. Produce was still fresh. Yes, we are coming to the end of season so availability is dwindling. But we will still check it out from time to time.
This has relocated from the Body Shop office site to Mulgrave Primary School on Gladeswood Rd. Old favourites are there. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available at reasonably good prices. And there are some good ready made foods also available with tables and chairs to relax in over breakfast or brunch.
First time after it moved from the previous location.
It seems to be much smaller and a bit quieter. Maybe as the weather warms up it will have more visitors and additional stalls.
Always a good buy to be found. Great breads, coffee, sausages, fruit & veg. Love, love love ️
Local grown, top grade fresh grown vegetables and fruits.
Mostly great to be able to support local growers.
Great little market for the weekly egg/veggies run. Heaps of room to expand at the new location too.
After an initial burst of interest this market appears to be wasting away and the problems are obvious.
It desperately needs a large shaded area where people know they can reliably get a seat and enjoy a coffee or food from a stall, At the moment there are a handful of ad hoc tables and chairs that pop up on a sun blasted asphalt sports court. Really nothing more than a token effort from market management and a real disservice not only to the visitors but the stall holders as well. Trying to find any shady spot where you can comfortably sit becomes an exercise resulting in leaving the market without purchasing anything.
With a bit of investment and imagination utilised between the school and the market management there are plenty of opportunities to extend the use of existing shaded areas from trees with further cover from shade sail setups in areas around the grass and playgrounds. People will gravitate to attractive areas to sit and at the moment the market is offering nothing appealing in this respect.
The blown out cost of some products and produce also is a real issue and results in a lot of people only visiting once and bad mouthing the market as a whole. People love a bargain but you wont find much love here, If the prices become more attractive people will build it into there weekly routines and growing attendance will quickly pave the way for a the return of interesting art and craft stalls that depend on a much larger volume of traffic to make them viable as it appears they have recently abandoned this space all together. Its these boutique stalls that really give character and experience to a market and without them it's just an expensive grocery store.
The entry and exit is also messy and unwelcoming with orange plastic poles and tape fencing strapped up all over the place to direct and funnel people towards the correct entrance so they pay their obligatory dollar coin entry which is a donation to the school.
Surely there has to be a better temporary fencing solution then this cheap and nasty eyesore. Possibly better to run on an honesty system and get rid of all the orange eyesores all together as this is the first and last impression you get of the the market area and it is not a good one.
The Mulgrave Market operates from the primary school with tons of great facilities built in and plenty of room for future expansion. So much potential but the people in control appear to be missing the warning signs and the opportunity to make it work and grow.
Great little suburban market in the south east suburbs of Melbourne. Different stalls are there each time you go. I enjoy buying the fresh vegetables and the different cheese and honey products.
Excellent market with good quality fresh produce & sausages with great coffee and many very tempting baked products, donuts and yummy things to eat.
A great market to go to with its very fresh produce as well as really awesome coffee and you would can not pass the fresh donuts there or the seriously yummy cakes plus wonderful skin products, flowers/plants n gifts. Lots to choose from ie.product, gift and produce for Christmas Festivities. Good parking as well and a gold coin donation going to the school. Oh yes. I forgot. The day I went Alex, the Guitarist was playing. He is fantastic! A great market to not miss.
Very small market. Convenient parking available. This market is simple, has very basics needs, such as fruit vegie stall, couple of coffee stalls and sweets. But also specialty stalls such as olive oils, honeys etc. Would definately come again. Stall holders are very inviting and friendly.
PLEASE NOTE, I HAVE EDITED THIS DUE TO MULGRAVE MARKET HAVING MOVED TO NEW SITE. NEAR OR NEXT DOOR TO MULGRAVE PRIMARY SCHOOL. ITS NOT ON THE CORNER OF JACKSON AND WELLINGTON ROAD ANY MORE. HAVE FUN ️ SHOPPING!
Great little dog friendly market. Very nice stalls owned by friendly and accommodating people. Ned Kelly Wine is a must try:)
Fantastic farmers market. I was able to pick up some stuff I couldn't find at the big supermarkets such as Feijoas and Jerusalem Artichokes
Very good. Very quiet today because of Easter though. Lots of lovely fresh green produce, berries and eggs.trying the free range pork tonight.
Relaxed simple set up of this farmers market made me stay longer than I needed to. I found a variety of fresh food here, all I wanted to cook a simple healthy meal.
Very small market.
A lot of organic food and drink.
We just go there for the Kefir Infused drinks being sold by Georguos George Brand.
They are SENSATIONAL!
We have been shopping at the market for many years
However this morning very disappointed there was no 1.5 distance at the fruit shop.
Need more security.
