Very good service, small local store with decent range for the size of the place, garden section is great, paint staff are incredibly helpful, so far I've been about 2 or 3 dozen times and I've found everything I needed each time.

It seems whatever I'm after (hardware or garden) these guys have it, at a reasonable price. An asset to Castlemaine & surrounds.

All the staff members are friendly and very helpful. They called me when some seedlings were in stock. They are willing, happily, to answer any questions you may have. I love to support them. Local businesses have a heart

Great local hardware with most produce on offer and a great tool power range for it's size. Watch out for some of the surly staff though.

Went here specifically for a particular product and left with a lot more all due to the helpful nature and advice provided by one of the staff. I failed to get her name but she was incredibly helpful and, given that and the amount of stock this place has I think this will be my go-to for any hardware needs over travelling a similar distance to get to Bunnings. Recommended.

New branding and a refreshed store. Open far longer hours that the Home Hardware in centralCastlemaine (those owners need to look around at the he market) and with much easier parking. Only issue is small 2 wheeled trollies and tight aisles, make it difficult to move around sometimes with carrying big items or its busy.

Young man named Walter was extremely helpful and polite. They have everything you'd need from a hardware store. Way better than Bunnings.

Unfortunately, since you ask, my experience at Mt Alexander Timber and Hardware was less than pleasant. I stood waiting for longer than necessary while staff ignored me. Then when one young man started to attend to me he went off to get a forklift, got busy with someone else and never came back. I had to eventually get someone else to help me. My feeling there always is if you're not a tradie, and don't have an account you are in the way. Oh well, such is life I guess.
