Mount Tassie Lookout reviews
15Very beautiful 360 view and that goes far. But the road to get there I mean… be ready! I’ve never seen such a destroyed road half of the tarmac gone, huge potholes, stones that look like they want to rip your tyres out. But I went with my campervan so it’s okay as long as you drive slow. Good luck!
This is a trek to get to by vehicle you'll need to watch out for poor conditions to drive.def not for low vehicles.view is great and can hike from here
A great place to go and take in a great view and also a place of sadness. In remembering those who lost their lives in the Black Saturday fires in 2009 and those who bravely fought the fires.
Road up to the lookout has not been maintained, would not recommend 2wd vehicles. Newly built "picnic" area is all overgrown and destroyed.
Beautiful lookout to view all the mountains and valley surrounding Tarra-Bulga national park. Turn on your way to a small road up to arrive at this place. The road up is mostly washed down, off road vehicle is mostly suitable.
It’s very windy, but the view is amazing.
A must visit
Amazing views up here, drove up in a Honda Accord no problem just chose the right lines and take it easy
Beautiful look out, very disgusted to see the amount if rubbish thrown on the top from disrespectful people attending the site
Stunning views! Last 400m or so is a bit eroded. You'll need a car with a bit of ground clearance.
Always a favourite stopping point when out exploring the Strzelecki Ranges. The road up to the lookout is a little eroded and quite bumpy, but once you reach the top you are rewarded with stunning views of the valley.
There is a small picnic area located on the North side of the mountain with a Black Saturday memorial rock.
Be sure to head west from the lookout and see the big historic tree stumps. Always a favourite for taking photographs with the children.
There aren't any public toilets available at Mount Tassie.
Some really nice views, road to the look out is quite narrow and rough but if you're careful its not a problem.
Amazing views. As it could get pretty cold out there don't forget your puffer jackets (if you intended get out of the vehicle). Roads are rough and best for 4 wheel drives. Anyhow it's worth the drive.
Great Views. Recommend an SUV as the road going up to the lookout has very large potholes. Also make sure you have a jacket as it gets very cold. The main view looks north towards Loy Yang power station and is a great lookout for Storm chasing or solar storms. (Aurora Borealis).
Pick your day - view is pretty underwhelming on a cloudy or grey day. Roads aren’t too flash either. Passable but not great. There are definitely more interesting places.
Other reviewers exaggerate both the condition of the access road and the quality of the views. The views are OK, shame about the power station. The road has a few avoidable holes.
The road to up to the towers is very rough and eroded like a 4 wheel drive track. We manged to drive our sedan up it but it was pretty bumpy in places. The views made the trek up worth it!
