Morriss Road Fish Shop

I was running late and starving the owner kept his shop open for me after hours and made me a meal after being knocked back at another shop. True gentleman and it tasted amazing. From the tall fella from Melbourne:)

Spent $20. Ordered a large chips and was disappointed by the size. Chips didnt taste overly great and sav in batters were lacking batter.

Simply the best fish and chips in Warrnambool, served by the friendliest family! We couldn’t fault the food or service. So tasty it was already half gone by the time I got my phone to take a picture.

Best fish I've had in the western district for years. Shop clean, cooking oil fresh, fish fresh. Well worth the trip to West warrnambool.

About time Warrnambool had a great fish and chip business. You can get quality on all levels. Flake was exceptional, potato cakes same, and chips hand made. The oil was clean which shows how particular they are. And what I liked the best was no pre battered products. Very clean and lovely service. We travelled all the way over town and so glad we did, worth it.

This place is a great neighbourhood fish & chip shop - serving a decent portion meal to locals and weary travelers alike.
We stopped in on our way through, one of their last customers of the day, but greeted like we were one of the first.
We had the blue grenadier - good size, nicely done - what more can you ask for.

Quiet possibly the best steak sandwich I have ever had in my life, decent price and the steak was so tender and they load it right up! 10/10 Would recommend anyone who has tried one to get in there and give it a go!

We bought this fish, potato cakes and other bits and pieces and then spend 40 minutes driving to our accommodation. When we got home and started eating, the batter was still crispy, crunchy, delicious. The salting was perfect. And when we were in the shop ordering the people were really lovely. They seem to be really popular as half the town was shopping there. Would love to try this when it's come straight out of the fryer, must be next level.

It was years before this place reopened and I'd say I like it but the battered savs need to be done better

3 years ago i came to Warrnambool from Brisbane. I bought the works hamburger and the only words my tastebuds could describe is angelic. The chips were yum also but by the time i finished the burger i was already full. I have tried to recreate this burger at home with no luck to what i experienced. I would pay $100 to know the recipe to that burger, but instead i have to drive 23 hours to experience that taste again.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was like leather. The calamari wasn't crumbed and the potato cakes were paper thin with the batter falling off. Very disappointing considering I placed the order 2 and a half hours early and our order was lost

Usually much better. Have been my go-to fish shop in the past. Lately chips haven't been nice, last night my flake was leathery and the calamari questionable. Won't he back for a while

$1 lemon, $1 EFTPOS, small bits of fish, strange think and thin potato cakes which weren't really cooked through, said 10 minute took 25. Just tells us the correct time

Was good in the past however the food not up to standard recently. The batter on the potato cakes very thick. Flake the same problem. I know they can do better. Chips were ok. Service was good.

I placed my order at 6: 20pm and had to call them back 3 times I still got told they were on there way it is now 8: 58pm and they are closed and I still haven’t got my food definitely will never be ordering from there again
