Great to see the Archibald entries at our fabulous gallery in Mornington. Being a ticketed and timed event it was not crowded so plenty of opportunity to enjoy each piece.

Went to the Archibald Prize here. It was well organised and people flowed through fairly smoothly. The exhibition was enjoyable. The only drawback was Eventbrite, the ticket booking system, it made a mistake with my booking and there was no way to fix it on the website and no-one to talk to by phone.

First rate. Easy parking, nice open plan gallery, very friendly helpful staff.
Could do with an “on site” Cafe. On our visit, there were only two (what appeared to be) temporary cafe’s next to the Gallery.

A good little gallery but very hard to see all the Archibald prize entrants, too many people crammed into the small space. A pity we didn't know about the pop-up food and drink stalls as we would have had lunch there as well.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of exhibits in this unassuming gallery. Especially when it looks really benal from the outside.

The paper themed exhibit is really evocative. Pillow stain artwork left us impressed, amused and thinking further.

Free entry!

Visited the current exhibition, National Works on Paper. Simply blown away by the works on display! The variety of styles, mark making, subject matter and in some cases, sheer technical brilliance is truly impressive. Some of the works triggered strong emotional responses and almost all commanded careful scrutiny. Some of the works are epic in scale, and others are exquisite in their delicate design, detail, and exacting production. It's always a pleasure to visit the beautiful MPRG, but for us this was absolutely one of the best exhibitions we have attended - anywhere. And it's free! The photos don't even get close to matching the wonder of seeing the works up close; just go see for yourself. Highly recommended.

A good gallery with a decent size of exhibits. Will take about 2 hours to explore.
I really like how they exhibit local artists and high achieving high school art students works

Small but with great exhibition. I like the atmosphere and locate on top of the hill, near a lake.

Absolutely LOVE this quirky, quaint little art gallery in the middle of a huge park area. Interesting information provided about each piece of artwork and after being SO impressed with the works I viewed, I was even more impressed to learn they were done by highschool students. What talent! Absolutely inspiring. Also really liked the range and variety of items available in the store section of the gallery. Some real treasures to be found. I can't wait to go back.

I attended one of the VCE arts programs over the holidays and I couldn't sing high enough praises. I went to learn more about different possible ideas for folios and how some of the highest scoring VCE students formatted their own folios.
Along with being taken through the different exhibitions on display, we were taught how different abstract ideas can be made by something simple, and that even simply sketching can form gallery worthy pieces.
Not only were those attending provided highly useful insight on different ways of forming folios and concept pieces, but we were also provided art books to take home for us to use as inspiration in the future, and to understand out personal art styles and subject matters.
Atop of all of this, our teacher of sorts, Jill, was incredibly kind, offered some of the best advice, and showed a genuine interest in our opinions and views. She even offered to give me additional advice should i request about my own folio and how to better it.

All in all, this gallery houses some incredible exhibitions (especially the New Wave exhibitions), incredibly kind and helpful staff, and an experience and tips that one could only dream of.

If you get the chance, please fo to this gallery, it is one of a kind in the best possible way.

Smaller gallery but a good one! Current Overwintering Project special exhibition is worth viewing - about migratory shorebirds. Artists have contributed in various medium. Nice small gift shop on site. Friendly staff.

Has also got renowned Australian painters - Arthur Boyd, Albert Tucker & early settler period too of the Mornington peninsula area.
An hour of your time will do. Gallery is set in a large landscaped area next to Civic centre & Rose garden. Loads of free parking.

Fabulous gallery space, staff are super friendly and the exhibition in the front gallery space by local artist Lauren Guymer is filled with stunning works. The Overwintering project is fabulous and the permanent collection has some real gems. Definitely worth a look.

A delightful modern gallery which is always pleasant to visit. The 'vibe' inside is good and the staff are helpful. Parking is normally not a problem.

Im not an art person, so for me it was so so, but there were alot of other people who liked it. I assume because they were there.unless their kids were doing assignments too.
