Moorooduc Timber and Hardware

As a tradesman I found them to be rude and disrespectful.
That’s is the last purchase from me.

Phoned to ask if they had the timber I wanted in stock and they confirmed they did. Drove 20 minutes to their yard and went to the front desk to buy the timber. He confirmed again they had stock and told me to go out to the yard and the guys there would get what I wanted. A guy there asked me what I wanted and he told me to drive up to the back of the yard and he would meet me there. 10 minutes later he arrived and asked me what the the timber was for. I told him it was for a decking sub frame and he asked if I was buying the decking from them. I told him I was going to reuse some old decking I had. He then informed me that unless I bought the decking he wouldn't sell me the timber for the sub frame. Absolute bunch of cowboys. Ended up going to Mika Timber in Carrum Downs who couldn't have been more helpful and their prices were cheaper as well.

Pre COVID these guys were helpful. Post COVID different story, VERY unhelpful and rude and was told they don’t trim anymore (apparently)
I could go on a rant but I wont, but if I was you I’d check Bunnings (which I try not to support) first before you commit. …they’re cheaper, they trim your wood and they treat you like a person.

Moorooduc timber just remember we’re not all tradesmen/women just like you’re all not rocket scientists but you’ve certainly lost a local customer

Thank Christ theres still a few timber yards left and theres an alternative to serving yourself with only 2.7s n 5.4, s available at bunnings then waiting at the "so called' "trade'desk behind half a dozen housewifes buying potting mix. Great, service, n knowledge and trade friendly.

Knowledgable people, good range of building products and old fashion service missing at many retail outlets.

Really love the old fashioned service and the prices are good too. You can get almost any timber you want here even hard to get species and sizes.

For all your timber needs go down to moorooduc timber. Family owned, and exception service since day 1.5 stars!

Very helpful, willing to give you expert advice if you ask. You never get kept waiting. The owners are jokey, pleasant and knowledgeable. Their materials are generally higher quality than Bunnings. Parking is good.

Absolutely shocking customer service! Staff treat you like an idiot if you aren’t a chippy. It’s a shame as we were trying to support a local business & not go to places like Bunnings.
Will not be going there again.

Helpful team, provided sound advice and (importantly for me) they were respectful of my limited knowledge. Pricing was reasonable and they accommodated a few last-minute changes. Delivery was on time and product good, so zero to fault. Cheers to Richard, Michael and the lads in the yard who helped me out at various stages.

I went there asking for them to trim one piece of timber and even after I offered to pay them more than I paid for the timber elsewhere I was physically assualted by the owner of the business. What upset him the most was when I mentioned their bad reputation in the town was correct. He then delivered a spray of verbal abuse and hunted me off the property!

Can't fault there range of timbers but I think they are more suited to tradies than people with limited timber knowledge. I would really like it if they changed their language and used less abbreviations or acronyms and spoke in plain language. I have no idea what F17 is or if I can use ot for my application.
