Montana on the Macalister Caravan Park & Campground

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING spent 2 nights in paradise! Such a well kept piece of paradise. Very clean amenities, friendly staff and excellent for dogs. Fiona and Dave do an amazing job of keeping this place the beauty that it is! Most definitely will be back!

Love this place so much that we keep coming back. Dave and Fi trully care about their campers and go out of their way to run a tight ship (even hawling caravans back up to the main road for unsuspecting little 1.6L Hyundai's). Happy campers, ultra clean amenities, wide camp sites, a flowing river, a night sky so clear you can see the haze of the milky way. The deafening sound of nothingness at the top of the hill

Park is nice and amenities clean however probably won’t return after the owner’s behaviour.went to the toilet and came back to find the owner had come pass and put out our fire as well as the camp site next to us. Tells everyone to drive slow but will do well over the speed limit in his golf cart. He also decided to soak the steep driveway with water the morning everyone was leaving to stop “the dust” which made it hard to drive up in our rear wheel drive car.

This is the best place to escape to. Quiet, extremely clean and most of all great hosts. After a little shower of rain I had difficulty getting out with my avan. No problem said David the host- I will take you out and he did. Fiona is just as helpful. 10plus stars. Do yourself a favour - only down side - couldn’t catch a fish in the Macalister river

It is a beautiful clean place to camp with great views, hot showers and clean water and fire pit!

This is 100% our go-to spot for camping. Amazing grounds, great value. Staff are friendly and always willing to help out to accommodate. Never too busy. Quiet at night. Not enough room to add all the things we love. Did I mention a swimming spot for kids. No place like it. Do yourself a favour and try it for yourself. Thanks Dave and Fiona.

We spent a week at the Montana right after NYE, and we fell in love with it! Dave and Fiona are wonderful, always very helpful and beyond kindness, the facilities are immaculate, the grass is worthy of a gulf course, the river is super clean, very accessible, perfect for kids and lot of fun for everyone. No reception or internet, which was great, it really makes you appreciate the beautiful place that it is. The camping ground is very accessible, but a 4WD is needed to go up if you tow, but not to worry, if you don't have it, like us, Dave towed our little pop-up for us with no problem up to the main road. The only thing that I would improve is to make available some sinks to wash dishes, but said that we really loved it and already booked for Christmas 2023!

Spent 7 days and had an awesome trip. Fi and Dave go over & above to provide a great stay. Not crowded. Amenities extremely clean. Amazing location. We will be back. Thanks for having us.

BEST CAMPGROUND EVER!

We now make a minimum of an annual trip to Montana with the family and love it!
The amenities are clean and the camp ground is picturesque. Irrespective of weather with mornings are stunning mornings with magpies or kookaburras singing, other wildlife and great fun for the kids.
You can tube/float around the river, fish if that’s your thing and there is hiking and walking tracks.
There’s no mobile coverage on the camp ground (yay) but you can get coverage at the top of the hill.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Super friendly Fiona and the grounds men Dave I think was a pleasure to deal with. Just got back and looking forward to the next trip closer to summer so we can take advantage of that river. Really nice amenities and guides to keep it all clean. Love the rule of dogs on leashes avoiding any chaos, so much more relaxing then other places we've been and out dog loved the off leash area great space for your pooch to run around. Completely off grid, looking forward to coming back

Fantastic campground next to a majestic river. So peaceful and the grounds were kept impeccably. All amenities were very clean and the managers were extremely friendly. Would highly recommend this great place to stay!

We had the opportunity to spend the weekend at Montana. What an amazing place by the river! Loads of space for kids to play, Immaculate amenities. Staff were fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Fiona and Dave are very passionate about what they do and run a very tight ship. The facilities are very clean, the sites spacious and the rules are very clear. For those who want the facilities of a Caravan park, but not the "hassles" with your potential neighbors, I would recommend coming here. The other campers were friendly and very respectful of the fact that people come here for the peace and to enjoy the natural environment. Safe place for the kids to ride their bikes etc as everyone is very conscious of vehicle speeds. I also love the fact that they recycle, I take my recycling home if a Park does not offer this.

What a fabulous campground. From the moment you get there, a warm welcome, lovely grassed sites, beautiful views, fire pit and wood delivered to your site. And all on a fantastic river bend. The ameneties and park are beautifully maintained. Well done Fiona and Dave. And thank you.

Loved staying there, found I didn't have the city stresses while staying at Montana.
It was peaceful and relaxing. The owners were fabulous and so were the amenities. Looking forward to staying there again
