Monbulk Charcoal Chicken

Love this place. The veggie wraps are spot on and do the trick. They are hard workers and have good service!

Dropped in yesterday for a very late lunch, everything else in the area was closed. I had a large chicken & avo and Caesar salad combo - very fresh and tasty. Hubby had a lovely chicken and chips.
Would recommend both meals

Went there today ordered a chicken roll, as he was putting the chicken on the roll he brought it up to his face and had a smell, said something to his wife (?) who took the container of chicken out the back where she then had a smell of the chicken in the container.
The guy then took the chicken out of the roll, it was then l asked the cashier for my money back. She told the lady not to worry about the roll she looked at me which l said "he's sniffed the chicken, you've sniffed the chicken if it's that rank why would l risk eating a chicken roll".
And he hadn't even disposed of the roll that the off chicken had gone into.

Souvlaki was cold lettuce only no tomato or onion. I got the chicken/lamb mix, minimal meat. I tried to question the lady making it as it looked horrible only to be told she doesn’t speak English so no use complaining. Won’t be going back.

Foods ranges from good to inedible, rudeness is the only constant since the new owners have taken over.

Ordered online but when I picked up it was $2.00 dearer than menu, they pointed to where it said prices are subject to change. Not a lot of money but don't like dodgy things like this, won't go back.

Great food, but the kitchen seems so dysfunctional. It also always seems like there’s one teenager or young person out of the loop because the rest communicate in their own language much more than english.

Terrible customer service and awful food.
Have twice had them forget items from my order. Then yelled at me when I called back to make a complaint and ask for a refund for the missing items.

Food is poorly made and the chicken has been undercooked. I've had food poisoning from this place twice over a couple of years. Obviously won't be going back again. Disgusting hole

Chicken was unfortunately raw went in and was not even offered a refund left meal there on table chips were great though as was the gravy

I like the big mirror on the wall, I like how clean it was, but I cannot forgive when cooks forget to add salt in my souvlaki.

Ordered a mixed HSP and spent all my time finding the lamb in between the dry chicken. When located (not often) the lamb was great making a good balance with the soggy chips. Will continue to support but hoping for improvement:)

Paid $8.00 for a medium chips and was in a bag that fit in my nephews hand if that’s medium I would hate to see a small I think they are taking it a bit far or just rip off kids?

Got order wrong, which we found out after we got home…
Watered down flavourless dressing on the coleslaw…
Seemed to use old discussing oil to cook the chips…
The chips even looked stale…
Absolutely no flavour on our chicken…
Slimy stuffing with strange taste…

I mean the food was disgusting.

Seriously, would it kill you to use some salt, spices and herbs.
To add insult to injury, we did a double-take over the price as well. Way to expensive for what we were served.

Never again!

Sorry guys but you need some coaching if you want to call yourself Charcoal Chicken,

After moving away from monbulk, i have come to miss this place and how good the food was, lamb HSP with my twist of gravy and cheese, was amazing, sadly no place has lived up to this since! Wikll be back!

Had chicken twice, not the best, far from the worst, chips good, stuffing tasty, coleslaw one of the best I've had, okay service. Really a 3.5 but can't leave that rating, so it's a 3 for me

Chicken ok, chips so so I think chips do vary at different places, I think it's the oil or type of spuds they use? Service good

The family and I just ordered burgers an wraps each one unique.everything was spot on an delicious thankyou we will be back.

Yummy, well priced. Chicken was good. Salad excellent and very fresh. Didn't have chips so can't comment on those.
