Monash University Health Services reviews
29Reception staff are incredibly rude and don’t listen to you. When I tried to book a counciling appointment I got lectured until o started crying about changing councilers to often (i haven’t been to a counciler in four months and bad a bad experience with my last counciler) after 20 minuets I asked her to just book an appointment and she gave me on three months from now. Be better Monash
Absolute the worst, receptionists were friendly and nice. However the waiting time for the GP is insane, most of my appointments are late ranging from 15-45 minutes.some GPs are nice like Mrs Angeline or Dr Keith highly recommend them. Dr Ng and Dr steven Ho is horrible, no genuine care about patient at all. Especially Dr Ng, his attitude is the worst I have ever seen, like for a human being in general, not to mention he is a doctor.
Receptionist a few months ago was so rude when i tried booking an appointment for psychologist. She transferred me before i could finish a sentence to the wrong number and when I called back did the same thing. Finally booked an appointment but in this vulnerable stage of life it made booking the appointment that much harder and stressful.
The doctors and nurses I saw today were very nice, particularly Dr Yoni Savicky who explained the tests and treatment procedures very patiently to me, and the nurse Chau is also very nice. Minus one star because waiting time was too long. Please take into consideration that the patients have other things on their schedule.
Had an appointment to remove a skin lesion, Dr Medres who did the procedure was extremely kind and very gentle. So very convenient to have a Health Service on campus and with such great GP's. I also see Dr Savicky who is another wonderful GP, he is honest and very kind during his consultations. Dr Savicky and Dr Medres both provide excellent medical care to me. Highly recommend this practice to all staff and students of the Monash University Community.
Ridiculously long waiting time, had to wait for over 1 hour to get a prescription, what's the point of making the appointment?
Really bad customer service by the reception, arrived early after confirming that I was coming for the appointment and they decided to skip my appointment. The doc had gone home and they blamed it on me.
Dr Bin Xu at this clinic is the best psychiatrist I had ever met. Very supportive, encouraging, and helpful legend! One of the best humans I had ever met.
Incompetent receptionist that has the white hair, tried to make me go to another GP because she was lazy and didn’t want me to go there, tried to ask useless questions, is very impatient, was a burden for her to talk to someone that needs medical assistance, should be fired for unprofessional behaviour.
I have good medical attention here, particularly from Dr Alec and Osama. They both have been excellent clinicians to me and my family.
I've been going here for over 10 years. The service has always been excellent in my opinion and I have not once had a negative experience. The medical staff are extremely professional. Wait times are similar to most doctors, and I'd say better than many multi-GP clinics I have attended.
I have been attending this clinic for the last 7 years, I have experienced nothing but professionalism, sincere empathy and extensive support from all departments, including my own GP, nurses and admin staff. When my own GP was overbooked and/or unavailable, I had to see some other GPs at this centre. I have to admit that some GPs may not be as experienced and helpful as my own GP, but also I need to accept that we are humans, and the rapport that we may build with one GP/human may differ with others. The important factor is just to meet the right GP and continue the journey with them as far as possible.
This clinic is hopeless. The doctors are nice. I have two appointments in a week. Both have delayed for 40 mins+ and that is just not acceptable. I made time to come here for my time slot. What’s the point to make an appointment and the worst is it is not bulk bill. Monash University should review the performance of this clinic seriously. I think I will escalate it to the University level and see what can be done.
Almost every time I am in the clinic I need to wait my appointment more then 40 minutes. That’s an absolute disrespect and breaks my own day schedule. I understand the high workload being the only Health Services on campus, but I believe that a lot could be done to change it. The patients’ time must be respected.
Do not attend this center when you have mental health issues, especially when you are at risk.
I received an unsolicited call from GP (unscheduled and no disclose of charged fee and then I got a bill), victim blaming from a counselor. The receptionists were rude and unprofessional. The wait was long even though I had an appointment.
I met one nice nurse but she alone could not overweight the awful experience I had here.
Dr Ng, is absolutely the best doctor I have come across in a long time. Such a good gp. Would recommend /10
It's not that bad actually. I assume that people who are satisfied might not leave reviews here, but people who have had bad experience do.
Everyone working here is always so crammed as they take lots of patients all the time. Cannot agree more with another comment saying miss or hit when it comes to GPs. I believe though some GPs here can be attentive and caring. Admin errors and mistakes are pretty common, so plan lengthy time for every visiting. I wish some GPs here act and speak more respectfully and meticulously when assessing patients.
If you are concerned about your health and are worried couldn’t get proper treatment, do not hesitate going to another GP immediately.
OVERALL: Poorly managed & unprofessional staff.
NURSES/RECEPTIONISTS: The nurses/receptionists are all constantly grumpy and seem like they hate their jobs.
DOCTORS: The doctors are really hit or miss. There are some decent ones, and a lot of bad ones.
For example, I had one GP that made MULTIPLE typos on my referral letter. I have no idea how that is even possible, what kind of med school takes people who cannot spell? The specialist Doctor who I was referred to literally asked me about the typos and joked that it looked like a fake referral letter.
Another example, I went to another GP for painkillers, I was telling him about the pain I was experiencing and how tough it makes things. He belittled my problem and told me about how back in his days they go through actual problems and actual stress.
COUNSELLORS: Hit or miss again. I had one really bad one, made me cry. Not sure whether they were outsourcing the counsellors.
MENTAL HEALTH NURSES: Absolutely lovely and amazing, I adore them. They are way better than the counsellors.
ADVICE FOR CLINIC: Firstly, please go through a more riguous selection process for your staff. There are so many Monash med/nursing graduates who are more qualified, do not go for some random person who does not know how to treat patients professionally. Secondly, please include a feedback form for each specific doctor, and actually take action to investigate areas of complaints and try to improve. The clinic is reflecting poorly on Monash.
ADVICE FOR PATIENT: Keep trying out new GP/counsellor if you encounter a bad one. Please do not stay with a bad doctor.
