MKS Spices'n Things reviews
47 Guys, how many of you have been or know Kepong mamak on the weekends or ttdi mamak’s? I promise you that I feel I was back home from the first mouth til the end.
I have explored every knocks and corner of Malaysian stalls, restaurants to events.
This chef's dishes won the top authenticity.
This isn’t mamak but chef Thamotharen Damuji cooked these dishes here in Epping Australia.
The owner Ravi has smartly hired 3 different chefs to focus on their specialties.
This gives the chef the time and focus to maintain his quality of food. The chef and the owner are very pleasant and friendly people to be approached.
Ps. They serve south & north India, Sri Lankan and Malaysia mood. 3 chefs focus on their own country specialities.
Will go again soon.
Hidden Gem Alert! A Taste of Authentic Malaysian Delights
Fried Kuay Teow & Nasi Goreng Extravaganza!
Location: Nestled in a quiet corner, this eatery boasts the most incredible Malaysian flavors I've ever savored.
Fried Kuay Teow: Imagine a tantalizing blend of smoky wok-charred flat noodles with perfectly balanced flavors – the ultimate umami bomb! Each bite unveils the heart and soul of Malaysian street food culture.
Nasi Goreng: An absolute delight! The aromatic blend of spices danced on my taste buds, perfectly marrying each grain of rice with a burst of flavors. A symphony of taste in every bite.
Chef's Expertise: It's evident that the chef’s passion and expertise shine through each dish. The authenticity and care in crafting these delicacies are truly commendable.
Verdict: A true hidden gem for anyone craving an authentic Malaysian culinary experience. Whether you're a street food enthusiast or seeking a cultural culinary adventure, this spot is an absolute must-visit.
Rating: 5/5 – Hands down, an exemplary showcase of Malaysian culinary mastery!
Don't miss out on this treasure trove of flavors - a culinary journey awaits!
This store is perfect for Indian grocery shopping and offers a variety of delicious desi snacks and foods. The cuisine tends to be quite spicy, so be prepared for some heat!
Tried this establishment today based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately I have to give this establishment 1 Star. It is not possible to select 'ZERO' stars. A dreadful experience.
Arrived at the establishment in EPPING at 1: 30 PM with my son. Luckily there was a table available. Went to the queue and patiently waited to place my order for dine-in - Banana Leaf Curry Fish package and Mee Goreng. Paid the invoice at 1: 40 PM.
Was wondering why the wait was lengthy and asked the chef at 2: 20 PM what's happened to my order - patience brother, your order will come soon. An Asian couple arrived and sat in the next table to us at 2: 05 PM. Their order of 2 plates of Fried Noodles arrived at their table before mine. They finished eating and departed before my food was served - may be they knew the CHEF and has preference treatment to skip the the wait queue.
This pissed me off because one of their dish was identical to the Mee Goreng I ordered. My Mee Goreng was finally served at 2: 45 PM but they gave me the wrong order - Maggi Mee Goreng Ayam. - no point disputing. (Just want to leave the establishment ASAP). My son's Banana Leaf arrived at 2: 50 PM.
I am not a cook but does it take 1 hour 10 minutes to prepare an order of Banana Leaf Curry Fish pack?
I probably will not be going back to this establishment. Refer to the attached photo for order time receipt and actual receipt of the plates of food.
Good luck to potential future customers who wants to give this establishment a try.
Amazing and authentic south Indian/ Malaysian food.if you are a food lover you must visit this grocery store as they serve a variety of dishes.
Eat from there at least once a week for lunch, love their curry. Had goat curry for lunch from them today, was very watery, not spicy and a minimal amount of meat. Will give them one more chance.
Please provide enough training to one of your staffs who was on register on Friday, 28/04/2023 around 6: 30 pm about customer service.
Always check the expiry date on the discounted items as they are well passed its expiry they just discount them thinking people might not notice.the oweners are the ones do this so can't blame the staff.
Friendly staff. All sri lankan items are available. They inquire om new products to introduce. That is a good quality of the management, who wants grow with consumer request. Keep up good work.
Bought some chicken rolls, Few hours later food got poisoning ended up very sick. Never ever will buy any food from. Your store
They sell expired good. I bought a Nikado noodles few weeks ago not more than a month. It was expired in January. We realized when we were eating. It tasted like nothing. That’s why we checked the expiry date. Never buying anything again. Be careful when you buy goods from them.
I found it little bit congested and many items I found without price tags, it must be improved, otherwise store is good lots of varieties, much needed in this area.
Very friendlly and open customer service at this place. Pleasant place to shop every time and good prices. Very helpful if need to ask anything. The take away foods there are extremely popular and look great
New Indian men at the front. Customer service is really really bad. Was chatting with and flirting with girls talking in Indian while customers are waiting to get their food. Even one guy touched my food with his dirty fingers while packing container. Poor hygiene. Have they changed the management? I Was a regular customer but not going back anymore. Disappointing
Bought yellow rice and curry on sunday, 19th June, rice was off smeling and wartery. I bought it around 12.30 pm, so its obvious that rice could be the left overs of the previous day. Disgusting. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
This place prepares the best fresh food out of all MKS stores. The staff is pleasent and courteous. Ample parking and store is well stocked. The menu changes daily which is good.
Poor Customer Service, employees are not approachable, very rude attitude. Please go somewhere and learn the basic of customer service.
Pethatic food zer0 quantity, south indian boys are tooooooooo rude. Mannerless, etc etc etc all the times.
If you will order chicken biryani you would find without chicken all the time
If you will order rice with chicken they will fill the container with rice and very little chicken curry.
Sorry to say bad, 3 grade rude management.
Sorry thanks is not at all in their dictionary
Shipping is way too expensive, even for 5kms range suburbs like Lalor, Epping, Mill Park and South Morang. For purchases $50 & above shipping should be free for these suburbs.
A grocery store which also serves food. Portions vary from server to server. I find that getting take away individual curries quite expensive. I love the variety you can get and it's always tasty.
