Shop entry great, and instant outstanding and adaptable customer service. I love a laugh. And then the meat, so good with added cooking advice. The locals in this town are so lucky. Wish our home town in NZ had a butchery as great as yours. We'll be back, for meat for all the family again soon.

I visited Wilson’s butchers today on the advice of friends and as I had an appointment in Wonthaggi I decided to give them a go. I live in Cowes. The service was 110% the staff were sooo friendly and the meat I bought although only had the gourmet sausages for lunch were devine. We are having the satay chicken stirfry and so far yummy. I was very impressed with their products and service. They even advised me on how to cook some of their products 10 out of 10

I am not a big meat eater but my grandsons are. Everything i have bought from this butcher they have loved and i am glad i am not vegetarian. They not only sell good food they are very helpful and offer good customer service. Love the shop and will be back for more

This is not our first time visiting this butcher, but today we bought the chicken kievs for dinner. The most delicious kievs I think we can remember having from anywhere. This is why the local butcher is so important.

Came to visit wonthaggi although we were disappointed with the treatment of a few businesses in the town. I must say this place was really nice to us friendly staff and the lamb chops were yum. If we had stayed longer we would have been back

Brilliant butcher. Great service.if you don't see it, or need something special, just ask and they will do their best to please. Absolutely top quality product. Also stock a nice assortment of condiments, pasta, frozen pies and the like.

I asked a few locals for recommendation on a butcher sourcing local produce and ended up at Mitchells. Tidy little butchery, really well presented. Clearly the friendly staff care about what they do. The star however os the produce. I bought a scotch fillet as it looked good (colour and marbling) to check them out. I forgot my sous vide water bath on our trip and had to pan fry (first time in 5 years) - Wow! Great pan fried steak in jersey butter. Delish! Be proud, you're doing a good job. Wish I lived closer.

We purchased beef ribs from this butcher on the 14/01/21
The beef short ribs only come in pre-packaged 4kg packs which is fine however on opening the the ribs had a very strong meat smell which we both contemplated but decided there was no way the butcher would sell $107 worth of off ribs to us! We froze 2kgs and and cooked the other 2kgs. The ribs spent 4 hours in the slow cooker as well as being finished under the grill. We got sick after eating them but thought maybe from the lunch we had that day.
Now after pulling out the other half of the ribs from the freezer I can 100% confirm that the ribs are off.they smell horrible and I'm upset we ate the first half.
Really appalled that you can charge people in the area over $100 for a product that is not fresh. We will not be returning

I live in the city and cold-called for a gift to be delivered to my dad for his birthday in Covid. The guys - especially Jessica - ended up boxing 2 giant steaks, a bottle of red, their own garlic butter and an array of vegetables in a beautiful box AND DELIVERED for a tiny price. The presentation as stunning. You went above and beyond and your kindness rippled out to so many people. Thank you so much, you're all amazing.

Presentation of meats and range is excellent 5 stars unfortunately service on the day was poor 2 stars. Meat we purchased was not exceptional - 4 stars.

Wife and I had a week out camping, on our return I wanted something special. I requested 2 x 1kg (2 inch thick) T-bone steaks freshly cut, it was done within minutes. The butcher then suggested I try his personal chilli and herb rock salt with the t-bones. Beautiful meat, aged a little longer than normal but that just makes it better, cooked perfectly. Always go here for my specialty cuts.

Anthony, Jess, Angie, Jackson and co are friendly and knowledgable, offering great meat at competitive prices. They will gladly offer great suggestions or alternatives. The meat is fresh, tasty and the best quality you can get. Prepared meals e.g. Mignons.stir fries, seasoned meats etc: are so delicious, and they're always welcoming. Good old fashioned service in a bright and cheery atmosphere.
