Misuzu's reviews
51It is a great place for Japanese food. Staff are very friendly. You have to try the eel. Never thought I would try it, but it was delicious. We ordered a second serving. Parking can be a bit tough to fond in the immediate vicinity. There are two entrances, one for the restaurant and one for pick-ups.
The sushi is pretty good. Karaage okay. Gyoza very good!
Other easy dishes like miso soup and edamame were done well too.
We had such a lovely time here. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the staff are so lovely and kind! Beautiful restaurant and ambience. Would definitely come here again, highly recommend!
The best Japanese in all of Melbourne. We have been going for over 15 years and it never disappoints.
Staff were lovely, service and food was amazing, lovely place and we will be making it a repeat go-to place, enjoyed every moment, thanks
Very cosy and pleasant place with knowledgeable and attentive staff, fantastic hand-made food. A notch expensive, but a treat is worth it! Umami.
Beautiful Japanese dinner experience. I can't wish for anything more. Food was great, server was a great person. Thank you guys for the wonderful experience. It was a hell of a memorable night.
Amazing Service and food. Been going here for years and it never disappoints. Very Highly Recommended
Little cosy resturant with great food & good customer service. We go there most of Sundays. This resturant deserves more than 5
First time patron to dine in at Misuzu's about a month ago.
Amazing and delicious Japanese food served. The best so far that I've tasted in Melbourne.
Does have a bit of a twist as it's fusion to meet the local demands of their regular customers for over 30yrs.
Very friendly staff both outstanding in customer service and food quality. Highly recommend to come and dine here. A hidden gem!
The best Japanese food I’ve had in Melbourne. The staff are also lovely, and the restaurant has such a relaxed and warm feel. Thank you team, please don’t change a thing! …Except perhaps more salmon, we get sad when it sells out
Haven't been back to Mizuzu's in many years due to obvious reasons. But wow was I glad to be back! The restaurant had a lovely, warm atmosphere and the service was lovely. The food itself was just delicious, highly recommend the daily special lemongrass scallops (if it's available) and the miso eggplant! Will definitely be coming back.
The best and most professional staff possible. Food is delicious and fresh. Do try the chilli prawns. Warm friendly and somewhere you will want to return to time and again
The setting and service were lovely.and the food was AMAZING.so fresh and tasty. I cant wait to go back.
My husband and I had lunch at Misuzu last Sunday. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The food is not traditional and compared to some traditional Japanese restaurants we have tried in Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo we found the food to be quite average. The sushi & sashimi platter was not fresh, it was pre-made which means the rice and fish were stone cold. Also, the sushi rolls combinations are not traditional. Hot dishes are okay but nothing memorable.
The room and furnishings are dated.
This restaurant is run by a lovely family but the food needs a lot of improvement.
Just a superb japanese restaurant.
This is a must do experience!
Fresh, vibrant, beautiful food, beverages & service. This is the place for you & your loved one to come experience.
The interior design is very charming in asian style. The sushi are very fresh and looks delightful. I would recommand that place for every Japanese food lovers.
Misuzu's is probably my favourite ‘authentic’ Japanese restaurant in Melbourne.
Food: Whether you’re an omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan like myself these days, there are plenty of amazing dishes to choose from. All beautifully presented using only the freshest ingredients. Everything tastes amazing!
Atmosphere: This modest-sized venue has a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. There’s small 2 and 4-seater tables, as well as configurations for larger groups with tables seating up to 10-12 people (but you would need to book this well in advance). The décor and lighting really make this place. The outdoor lanterns in the tree is iconic for Misuzu's. There is a genuine hustle and bustle during those peak dining times (especially on the weekends and evenings). But it all seems to work really well. You can find a quiet corner or choose to dine on the quieter side of the venue if you’re a couple, or right amongst the energy and buzz of the main dining space, if you’re a bigger group.
Staff: The staff are a mixture of traditional Japanese and Australian. Regardless, everyone is genuinely friendly, helpful and professional. You’re sure to be attended to and served promptly. They’re quick to refill your glass of water, attend to any requests or enquiries and never too far away when your table needs clearing for the next course.
The food, the atmosphere and the staff are just so enjoyable to experience. I cannot recommend this venue enough.
Mediocre food.had the teriyaki salmon, spicy waygu beef and sushi platter. The taste is alright but the fish is quite dry. The quality of sashimi and sushi doesn't worth the price. Perhaps it fits the Aussie's taste buds on Japanese food but I feel there are huge room for improvement. Might wait a while to come back again. I enjoy the vibe of the restaurant tho.
Outstanding. Our food was fantastic and the staff friendly, warm and welcoming.
We had a great evening and already can’t wait to return.
