MINIMARU reviews
27The always friendly and knowledgeable workers at Minimaru make shopping experiences here enjoyable. Minimaru's range of Japanese products and its orderly environment is ideal even for window shopping. That said, for Japanese exports, the prices here are so reasonable. Absolutely adore shopping here and will be back regularly!
Asked early online pick up and responded quite quicker than I expected and i was very satisfied with their service.
1st time visitors and a great find.
Excellent Japanese products and very good customer service.
Sorry, it’s actually -1 star. Shopped once, probably never again.
Got sold with a faulty product, a water bottle, try to return and willing to do an exchange as they don’t refund. (ridiculous I know, perhaps they should really study Australian Consumer Law)
Took a few pic of the faulty product and told me that they will have to get in contact with the supplier etc, unable to provide an estimate time or possible outcome, all I got is that they never had the same issue before.
So is it my fault to be the first one buying a faulty product? How difficult is it to provide an exchange with the same product?
All that for just a water bottle, wether or not you guys get back to me or not, will never shop again, but this review stays here forever.
Get your head around Australian Consumer Law, coz IT NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Definitely one of my favourite Japanese store in Melbourne. Lots of variety products from Japan.
If i miss Japan i would go there.also if i want to practice my japanese with all the friendly staffs subarashi Minimaru!
Probably one of my favourite Japanese shops in Melbourne. It's very aesthetic inside.
I love minimaru! The customer service is amazing and products arrived completely undamaged.they get back to any questions via email really quick and are super friendly! I am definitely shopping here again:)
Disgraceful treatment of two dear friends, mother and son who just today went in the store to look around for a small gift, and upon leaving the store were called back into the store and wrongfully accused of stealing something by a young male aged 20 to 25 (you know who you are). After they went back into the store and kindly (calmly respectfully) offered this fool to search their bag and when this young male performed the search and found nothing, he didn't even apologise for the embrassment he had caused in front of other people. Didn't even have the heart to say thank you or sorry, demonstrates poor character and very unprofessional. Bad hire MiniMaru! Now that your store doesn't pass the Clayton vibe check we won't be back and neither will our many friends and family.
It’s close to Clayton Station and sells Japanese homewares, especially kitchenware. I couldn’t find much nearby until now, so it was convenient. The interior is spacious and tidy, and the shopkeepers were friendly, so I enjoyed shopping here.
If you have purchased items from this store, ensure you are totally happy with it as it is difficult to get a full refund. I bought a wok which surprisingly turned out to be a deep fryer iron wok and unknowingly, I used it to fry eggs then thinking I hadn’t washed it properly, I went to use a dishwasher. No instructions came with it. I went back to the store and I had to explain what happened in detail and then I was offered a discount credit instead of a full refund. Ultimately, I was given a full credit after much persuasion and bought a clay pot to use up my credit. The first customer service lady who we first spoke to wasn’t helpful and wasn’t apologetic at all and was just standing there when I wanted to check if the clay pot was in a new condition and I struggled to put the pot back into the box. The male salesperson who we dealt with was fine and apologetic. I completely understand that they are a small business speciality store but misusing the wok was not my intention at all and it has caused me much inconvenience. Would certainly want customers to be aware that their refund policy is not easy and customer service is totally dependent on who you meet.
A beautiful Japanese shop with lots of products including matcha bowls, ceramics, kitchenware and household items.
Be aware
They close earlier than closing hours
We drove 1 and half hour just now to realise they close before closing hour!
A cute Japanese shop with beautiful and high quality goods. They have a large assortment of items including skincare, homeware, stationery and more.
Cute Japanese homeware place and they have lots of cute and useful products.
True to some other reviewers said, if you want to save money, you can't go to this place LOL!
Great selection of Japanese goods ranging from kitchen utensils/ gadgets to stationary and even skin care. Prices are reasonable. Plenty for you to choose from! Must visit for some unique Japanese goods
Don’t ever come here if you wanna save money. Their products are all top notch quality with mesmerising appearance. The tableware might seem expensive but that’s because they’re handmade from Japan. If I had the money, I would just buy everything in the store.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They even help me bring my stuff out to my Uber.
Another plus is there are plenty of ways to get here, especially convenient for people who take public transport like me.
A MUST visit besides Hongkong Supermarket if you ever pass Clayton!
Hands down the BEST Japanese store I've ever been to, outside of Japan of course.
Customer service has always been mostly helpful. It does get a bit difficult when some of the instructions only come in Japanese, so be sure to keep a translator on hand to help suss anything out.
House plants, crokery and studying materials, all make this feel like a small slice of Japan close to home.
I have always had a great experience here, whether shopping or window shopping. And I now only trust knives from this specific store. Best knives and crokery I've ever had!
Great range of quality "boutique" products at great prices. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The prices in this shop are misleading. We went to buy a knife the price displayed was 88 but when we billed it it was 120 odd dollars. I would expect the decency to atleast see the product for the advertised price rather than misleading them!
The products in this ship are good. You can find lots of Japanese equipment with amazing idea or purpose.
