Ming Dining Fine Dining Asian restaurants Melbourne CBD reviews
22First time at Ming with my Mrs and it was an amazing experience. The food was outstanding. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be returning without doubt. In fact, wife is planing her next birthday with beloved friends here. Do yourself a favour and try them out. You will not be disappointed. …
We have had a lovely evening. Amazing food with amazing customer service. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed chatting with our beautiful hostess Hebe.
Highly recommend.
Come here for the happy hours, Tuesday to Sunday, $2 oysters. The service, food and drinks are more than what we expected. Super nice and amazing staff. Fresh oysters. The only issue is we got tipsyyyy. Will come back for sure.
Attentive service, the food is creative and delicious. Everything is good. I will definitely go for second time)
Hebe was serving our table tonight, very friendly, good service and sort out all our needs tonight.
Absolutely superb fusion Asian meal - second to none based on my extensive experience in N Asia. Also wonderful service from Tony.
Absolutely wonderful! We went for dinner and they arranged a vegetarian four course meal for us. It was delicious! Thanks so much. I can highly recommend!
Had lunch here and it was terrific. Amazing food and excellent service. Our waiter, Julius was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Will definitely be back next time we visit Melbourne again.
When it comes to Ming Dining, the main courses were a real treat. The beef was juicy and packed with flavor, the duck was cooked to perfection, and the fish was incredibly fresh. And let's not forget about their desserts – they not only looked amazing but tasted fantastic. The mango ice cream had that perfect sweet and tangy balance, and the sesame milk pudding was pretty good too.
But, I have to admit, the starters were just okay. The salmon and beef tartare lacked that wow factor. The beef tartare had some creativity but missed that beefy goodness. And there was this crispy pork dish where the skin was way too tough, and the meat was a bit on the chewy side.
What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service from the owner and staff. They were super attentive and quick to address any questions or concerns we had. Overall, it was a good experience with some delicious dishes, and the friendly service made it even better.
Beautiful fusion fine dining. Loved the atmosphere and exceptional service. Definitely a place to try if you’re looking for a special place for a special occasion.
3/5 because of the cost but 4/5 if it was cheaper.
Few issues
- food - consistently underseasoned. Beef tartar needed a lot of salt. Super pricey, 20-30/entree, ~50 most mains.
- service - food was on slower side. Shelled seafood dishes didn't come with bowls to discard shells etc
- atmosphere wise - music doesnt match the venue, eg: ed Sheeran/pop music
I came here for a client lunch. It was hands down the best lunches I've had in a long time. The chef definitely knows his flavours without overpowering the protein, the seafood is so fresh and service is attentive with a smile.
Highly recommended Ming Dining, you will not be disappointed.
The signature shrimp toast here is worth experiencing, the red pepper paste paste ribs were delicious, and the Chinese broccoli and fried rice were better than those at Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. Rather than being a complete fine dining restaurant, it is a place where you can enjoy lunch and dinner comfortably. I think I'll come here often since it's close to my house.
Had an amazing night and the food was very good. The favorite had to be the Yin Yan Panna Cotta, absolutely delicious and what an amazing concept. We’ll be back, thanks for a lovely evening
Amazing atmosphere
Quite a lot amazing food out of what we’ve ordered:
King fish- great balance in flavours very freshening and tangy
Beef rib- good texture (easy to bite but not too loose) and flavour (subtle gochujang). How they used fried think beef fat slice is outstanding. I thought those were rice crisps.
Duck breast- slight crispy skin with delightfully tightened meat in a slightly smoky sauce
Beef tartare and buramundi are good too
Fried rice is not bad.
For got to take a photo of the crispy pork. It’s not crispy enough.
Three desserts are absolutely delightful.
Panna cotta’s got a nice balanced. The use of black sesame, rice, miso and blood orange is noval and well-balanced.
Mochicake contained the sophisticated flavours and texture of crispy caramel, apples ginger, whisky and crumble.
Red bean pudding and mango sobert is loved so much by my friends. Mango sobert itself is vivid. Red bean pudding reminded us of the traditional Cantonese dessert 砵仔糕, but is less stretchy. The rice crisps are also coloured in raspberry for the presentation. This desert is vegan.
Some mistakes were made with our order, but how the manger handled it was pleasant at last.
The food is so good especially king fish and duck breast and i also ordered pineapple cake cocktail, I strong recommendation
Melbourne’s best kept secret.
Happy hour Monday to Friday 5pm to 7pm. You can’t go wrong if you get in early and take advantage of the cheap drinks.
The food, service and venue is top class and great value for money.
Get in early before the secret gets out as you will need to make reservations weeks ahead when Ming Dining is discovered.
Food & Drinks offer was amazing,
Outstanding service too, excellent experience! Highly recommended!
The restaurant is very stylish, the service attitude is super nice, the oyster is super fresh, and the Wagyu beef has just the right texture. I like it very much. It is a good choice for fine dining:)
Very creative asian fusion fine dining with top notch service. The dry aged duck is the best I've ever had! Decor is also beautiful, especially the bar, which gives a vibrant but classy atmosphere.
