Milk the Cow Licensed Fromagerie reviews
71Omg, this my kind of place, this is cheese and wine heaven. Introduced to me by my daughter, a excellent selection of the finest cheeses and wines to match your selection. Reasonably priced and well worth the experience, give it go.
Lovely experience but pricey, I’d prefer to make the drive out to cheese farms support them directly.
Great wine and cheese flights however we waited 40 minutes for our wine and some food came out overcooked.
My partner and I had an amazing time here. We shared a wine and cheese flight which was a great way to learn about the cheeses and different pairings. The staff are super well-informed about all of their products, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Special shout out to Phoebe who looked after us all night - she is super knowledgeable and was very attentive. We will be back and can't recommend this place enough!
After waiting 40 minutes for our flight of drinks I’m
Pretty disappointed. There was sooo many staff walking around (no one else waiting on drinks or food) yet not one person pouring drinks. Until I asked where Our drinks were they finally started pouring. Really disappointed as wine and cheese was great.
Had afternoon tea there. Nice place for cheese and wine lover. Have waited a little while for food.
Absolutely loved this place. Great for a first date and great value for money. The knowledge the staff have is absolutely tip top, too.
I had the wine flight - this was enough food to start the night off of bar hopping. Can't wait to return and have the gin flight next.
Love. Love. Love.the FOH team were incredible (even during this crazy time while hospitality is so stretched and they had no chefs due to C19).
The team were attentive and took the time to explain our wine and cheese flight thoroughly. The wine flight was delightful and the pork terrine is up there with the best terrine that I have had.
Amazing - definitely will be returning for more…
I’m so disappointed. I had ordered two hampers for a Xmas present. Got them delivered 10 days ago. Delivered on time and in good condition. I didn’t realise that the hampers only had 7 days before they were out of date. Organised lunch for the referrers today and went to give them the hampers only to find out that both hampers were OUT OF DATE! Even if I had given the hampers on the day they were delivered they only had 7 days to eat all of the cheeses in a box worth over $100 each! Lost over $200 of cheeses and no present. So very disappointed.
I've fallen in love with Milk the Cow!
Large Cheese & Sparkling Wine Flight served with 4 cheeses matched perfectly with 4 types of wine, followed by a Farmer's Board with olives, prosciutto, salmon pâté. Dinner ended with a Grundlegend fondue. Absolutely DELICIOUS!
Also, lovely indoor seating friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Such a great place to come for wine and cheese! Staff are always so lovely and knowledgeable, food and drink is always incredible! Perfect place for a light dinner before a night out
Amazing place! Great vibe, great service, extensive selection of international cheeses. Will definitely go again.
Great experience! Loved the wine flight to have a chance to try different cheese and wines. Great atmosphere.
Great way of spending a nice day with something different. Knowledgeable staff and great product selections.
Superb 2nd time experience had at St Kilda (first Carlton). Brilliant knowledge, service, wines, cocktails, cheese. The sun was shining making an outdoor experience spot on for St Kilda. Was super impressed yet again with knowledge and service. And very pleasantly surprised to receive an on the house bubbly on arrival as our booking had to change from Carlton to St Kilda due to staff shortages transitioning back to opening after lockdown and not being able to open Carlton as per our original booking. Great communication and assistance around this from Emma. Highly recommend Milk the Cow.
AMAZING CHEESE and wonderful staff. Spent hours laughing and talking and enjoying the lovely wine, Thankyou so much ️
Amazing people who really know their cheese.
Popular spot for dates and intimate catch ups. Really good stock of cheese and wines to pair.
Did a great deal on some cheese about to go past its best before dates during lockdown.
Thanks so much for the take away box. Certainly what we needed during lockdown. Also great that you deliver outside cbd suburbs
Great cheese, great wine, great cocktails but lacklustre customer service.
We waited 15 minutes receive menus
After we sat down, as the menus arrived so did a lovely mulled wine tasting. We then waited another 15 minutes to order. Then 20 minutes later we had to leave to attend our reservation for dinner.
Upon mentioning this to the waiter, he was apologetic and asked us to come back and we would receive free sparkling.
We returned after dinner, the fromagerie was quiet with only a few tables taken. We were seated on a dirty one that had a hell of a wobble. This time we received our menus quickly but waited another half an hour to order. As we were ordering we mentioned we were in earlier and the waiter returned with a petite glass of sparking for us each. We then waited 25 minutes for our order to arrive. As we were enjoying our cheese and wine and avoiding making any sudden movements, else our beverages were sure to take flight from the wobbly table, we received more complementary mulled wine.
Our waiter was an expert in our field, knew what he was talking about and was well versed in the history of cheese and wine. Though not once did he manage a smile, or make us feel welcome. With a history in hospitality I understand how difficult it can be so keep people happy, but sometimes all it takes is to smile and have a joke with the customers. Free things are lovely, but so is an interaction with a happy and welcoming human.
Average selection of cheese with not quite fresh bread. I don’t understand why they can’t make a weekend menu if they will apply a 10%surcharge for every Saturday and Sunday. Anyway 5 tiny little cheese with cold bread cost $60. I was certainly a rip off.
