Miku Japanese Dining reviews
63Amazing experience. Went for a birthday of 20 people. Food was delicious, timely and fresh. Staff were lovely. Highly recommend.
I was a bit skeptic about the new management, however to us pleasant surprise the food quality and service are excellent. We sushi and sashimi platter which has so many different varieties and refresh! We also order the Foie Gras and Toro shushi and boy were they yum! They soft shell crab were freshly fried so super crunchy in the roll. Will definitely go back to try the dinner sets. They came with many nicely presented side dishes and dessert too.
Good food, value and service. Friendly owner chef who, serving you the best they can offer. Good variety of fish if you love your sushi/sashimi. Highly recommended.
Miku is an old favourite since its inception. The food and service are always consistent. The interior is cosy, and nothing screams cliche. The freshest seafood, grilled entrees, hot noodles, and great conversation with Michael behind the sushi bar. Lin and the rest of the team are always prompt and ready to help you out if you're stuck with the menu. Guaranteed a really authentic meal with relaxed vibes. Just skip the prententious websites, edit photoshots and head down to Miku, and try it for yourselves.
Excellent food and great service! You must try the soft shell crab burger and Dragon Roll. Yum!
We’ve been patrons of Miku Japanese Restaurant for what feels like an eternity now. Nestled in the heart of Doncaster, Miku has become our go-to spot for authentic Japanese cuisine that never fails to impress. The quality of the food here is simply unmatched, making it the best Japanese restaurant we’ve found in the area.
One of the aspects we appreciate most about Miku is the freshness of the ingredients. The fish, in particular, is consistently fresh and of the highest quality. This is especially important to us because our all-time favorite dish here is the sashimi on rice. Each bite of sashimi is a burst of flavor that takes you on a journey to the heart of Japan, and the rice is always cooked to perfection, providing a subtle contrast that heightens the overall experience.
We also regularly order the curry chicken and beef udon. The curry chicken is a delightful blend of flavors that are both comforting and invigorating. It has the right amount of heat to kick your taste buds into gear without overwhelming them. The beef udon, on the other hand, is a hearty dish that is both satisfying and delicious. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the udon noodles are cooked just right, offering a pleasant chewiness that we absolutely love.
Overall, Miku Japanese Restaurant has become more than just a dining venue for us; it’s a place where we’ve created countless memories over countless meals. We cannot recommend it enough. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Japanese cuisine or a curious newcomer, Miku has something that will surely delight your palate.
I like the sushi nigiri here so much. I have bought twice after work. I’m sorry that I always ask for rush due to catching the bus timetable. Thanks the staffs for letting me getting the order soon. I really enjoy the warm rice and fresh salmon.

Came for lunch. Got the sushi and sashimi platter. Was a bit smaller than expected but was tasty overall. Would come back.
Revisited this restaurant a month ago after years of being away and was met by an extremely rude waitress with a short bob haircut. It was very busy inside that day and so we asked politely if there was a chance of being seated outside. She seemed very unhappy with this but did not explain why. From the moment we walked through the door, she already seemed irritated. When we were seated, she slapped some menus down and when we thanked her, regardless of her behaviour, she stormed off without saying a word. This is particularly disappointing given we were one of their very first customers when it opened years ago and have always had good memories of their food and service.
Resonably priced, delicious and portions are great. We've tried their bentos and chirashi don most of the time. The side dishes are interesting and the fish is super fresh. We love the food there and dine in almost every week. It's a small and busy restaurant, so be prepared to wait during peak hours.
Most of the food are very well and in reasonable price. Great work in such a little restaurant. Fabulous.
Love this authentic Japanese restaurant ️ always quite full whether it's lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend so book ahead:)
Ah, the hidden gem in the East - Miku is by far one of our favorite haunts for seriously good sushi in Doncaster East. Their sushi and sashimi sets (at night), as well as chirashi sushi bowl (lunch) are incredible. Their fish are incredibly fresh and exciting depending on supply and season, including king salmon, otoro (fatty tuna), alfonsino, akagai (ark shell), scallops, and more. My personal favourite? Their sushi rice is incredible - I think it's better than a lot of highly rated Japanese restaurants in the CBD. And any sushi critic worth their weight should know that good sushi rice is the foundation of serious sushi.
Food has always been amazing here and we have never been disappointed with their takeaways. But I’m giving them 2 stars, only because almost every single time we collect our order it takes an hour (in some cases more than an hour) for them to get our food ready despite them quoting us 30 minutes. We will always arrive on time and still end up having to wait for another half an hour! I mean come on, that’s pretty ridiculous. We’ve been ordering takeways from them for years and they have never improved. I understand they are short on staff but thats pretty bad on customer service.
So if you have the patience, then this place definite delivers in terms of food quality. If not, don’t bother.
Food is fresh, not only beautifully presented, but also delicious. Very good portion as well.
Love the bento, great mix with sides and main. Yummy and nutritious.
Highly recommend spicy tuna roll and dragon roll! Sushi burgers are also Sashimi here are of top quality
Good quality fish. You go there for their food and not their decorations, which is my preference.
Best service, fresh food, excellent will be back 100%
The best Chawan Mushi in Melbourne
They have a really fancy omakase which is really fresh and surprised us a lot, will come back again definitely ️
