I got my hair done by Mikal and it turned out amazing! The team set realistic expectations for me when I did my booking. Mikal was very patient and precise, and put in a lot of hard work. I would definitely get my hair done here again:)

Both Mikal and Chloe have each offered me excellent consultations and services at separate times. I always feel like they both listened really intently to what I wanted and they did an outstanding job. I had very natural highlights/balayage artistically done by Mikal last year, as well as a wonderful haircut recently by Chloe.

I am overjoyed with my new haircut and sweeping side bangs I received from Chloe last week! I highly recommend this salon.

We do a 5 hour round trip from the country specifically to have foils/colour done by Chloe. I have extremely fine blonde hair that many hairdressers seem to struggle with but Chloe does a consistently meticulous job every time. She's also a lovely, genuine, calm person to be around which is a huge bonus. The salon itself is spotless and tasteful, and the usual clamour of bad music, loud conversations and multiple hairdryers is thankfully absent. We come out refreshed, not exhausted.

I’ve had my hair done by Mikal for 12+ years and I cannot speak highly enough about he and his teams’ attention to detail and care of my blonde hair! They have brought my blonde hair back to life and really listen to and support your hair goals! Cannot recommend this salon highly enough!

I have my hair coloured here, the results are always excellent, even when I needed colour correction from another salon. The space is minimal, roomy, and dog friendly. All round this is a beautiful salon with great service and I find it very good value for the super professional service.

After a long COVID-imposed hiatus, I was eagerly awaiting my colour and cut at Mikal Dunn towards the end of last year, and it pains me to say that I came away disheartened with the result. As lovely as my colourist was, my vision for my hair just did not come to be - the cut was an average trim, with no attempt to shape/sculpt to freshen up the look even slightly.the balayage colour was much lighter than I requested (more blonde than caramel for my dark brown hair), making it look less glossy and natural. To top it all, I was charged an additional fee to account for the volume of my hair, at billing time! It would’ve been nice to have been told in advance, or better yet, the cut should’ve been done prior to colouring like in most salons. As friendly and professional as the staff are, I don’t think I’ll be going back for my hair!

I had the pleasure of visiting Mikal Dunn salon on Friday for the first time. My experience was brilliant from the get-go, being greeted by the gorgeous Bonnie upon arrival who kindly offered something to drink, read and continually ensured I was comfortable throughout my visit. Mikal worked his magic on my hair, and listened to my desire to go light blonde from brown whilst still maintaining my hair's health. I left with a gorgeous, perfectly blended full head of highlights that felt extremely soft and silky. Mikal's passion for hair is undeniable, which is clearly reflected in his talented skills and attention to detail. The prices at Mikal Dunn are incredibly reasonable for the service they provide, which is something important to me (being a full-time student). Mikal Dunn is a gem of a salon - looking forward to repeated visits in the future!:)

I had my hair cut by Chloe, and loved it! She really listened to what I was looking for in the cut, took her time and was really lovely to chat with. Everyone else was also very friendly. I will definitely be back and recommending to friends!:)

The stuff of hair dreams! I moved to Melbourne almost 2 years ago and was so nervous about finding a new hairdresser. I walked passed the salon a few times then bit the bullet and made an appointment.almost 2 years on I'm still obsessed with this salon!

Chloe, Mikal and the team are so lovely and welcoming and when it comes to hair. THEY JUST KNOW! If you want to walk into a hairdressers and walk out feeling fabulous this is the place!

Forgot to write this review when I got my hair done before lockdown but I had the best experience at Mikal Dunn. I had Chloe and she was SO lovely and kind and we had a great chat AND my hair looked 10/10 afterwards. Can't wait to come back!
