MP has downright rejected me at the start of my Australian career journey 5 years ago. I was told my only option was to start off at a much junior position even with international experience and qualifications. I did without them anyway. 5 years later they chase me… Pretty disgraceful and desperate… Most of these people have a few buzzwords in their vocabulary to sound smart but there’s not much substance or understanding of what they are recruiting for or any consideration for your career goals. They just want the $s.

I have dealt with agencies for over 20 years. I can confidently say that Michael Page stand out as the worst experience I have ever had…no others come close.

My CV was downloaded from SEEK. I have had no contact with this company but was added to a marketing database. No consent was given for MP to represent me in any capacity but I received an email on how my data will be handled with them.

Was approached by Michelle, Olivia, Emma and some others who recruited for digital/data/marketing. Absolute shameless time wasters. The last role they were pushing on me was a company being cracked down by the ACCC for fraud as "a great next step for you"! Multiple times they've wasted time asking me to come to their office "to discuss a great new role" and then pitch a role that's basically a step down. It's hard to say whether it's genuine inability or simply their scummy tactics. Last straw was when they tried to use me as a guinea pig for their "X-Ref" portal which ended up spamming my referees (email & SMS) nonstop. All that without even disclosing what the hiring company was. A lot of jumping hoops with them was simply for a new recruiter to get trained in interviews or to test their stupid platform.

Recruiters like this remain immune to criticism because most candidates don't speak out. Save your time - stay away and block their numbers.
