This was the best dining experience we’ve had in some time. Every dish was absolutely perfect and you can tell they really put so much care and thought into every single dish. The service was incredible as well and we felt so welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. This has to be our new favourite place and we can’t wait to return.

Save yourself a trip to Melbourne and dine here for wonderful food and service. Great to see a local restaurant set this kind of standard.

We had a wonderful night out at Messmates celebrating our anniversary and my new job. The staff were fantastic and the food and wine were thoroughly enjoyable. Perfect for date night or shared with friends and family.

We had the Sunday set menu which was delicious. Definitely recommended and will go back. When we went they didn't have an espresso machine, nor offered tea, but I'm told that is coming soon.

Wonderful lunch on the second day of summer raining in Warragul, we went snacks, smalls and substantial, a couple of cocktails for Jules and a Pinot Gris for me. Just perfect!

We drove two and a half hours to get to Messmates, to celebrate my partners birthday, after a recommendation from our grand daughter, who had read a review and thought we would like it. Well I have to say we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service was second to none, the staff were knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive, the atmosphere excellent, and the place was jumping, there wasn’t a spare seat in the house. We were greeted at reception by name and when we were shown to our table there was a little note wishing Alan a happy birthday, lovely touch. Would we drive two and half hours to enjoy their hospitality again, absolutely.

Amazing experience! Would highly recommend. Chris and Jess were incredibly welcoming. The food was outstanding and highlighted local & seasonal produce. Will definitely be back soon

A wonderful restaurant. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff. A good, but not too extensive, menu which enables them to focus on fresh local foods innovatively prepared and beautifully presented. We will definitely return very soon.

Beautiful space, excellent service and delicious food! We had their set menu and the flavours in all of the courses were amazing. Simple meals but executed to the highest degree and it had the whole table trying to guess their secret spices. Highly recommend
